To assist ou in Property
Schedule will be provided upon request.
The Alliant team has conducted a thorough review of the County's current insurance information
provided within the RFQ. Upon our review, we have uncovered some coverage items we believe we
would be able to improve upon. Below is a summary of those items:
Property
We believe the windstorm sub limit in your current program to be inadequate. Increasing this
limit is recommended and acceptable to the marketplace.
We note that the County's deductible of$1,000 is quite low for a municipality of your size.We
would like to have the discussion on raising this with the County. A higher deductible would
yield improvements in loss history and allow the County more control of the overall program.
We would suggest a CAT modeling/aggregation study be undertaken to assist in our
evaluation of stand-alone program limits.
The commercial marketplace allows for deductibles to apply per unit of insurance, which
provides more flexibility when applying them.
We would look to schedule high hazard flood locations, which would add contract certainty
for both the County and your insurer.
Below is a comparison chart that we have produced for the County to have an idea of what one of our
Public Entity specific programs known as Alliant Property Insurance Program(APIP) compares with the
County's current coverage through the NCACC. You may be surprised to see the significant limits that
may be afforded the county with our proprietary program further enhancing the counties protection
and reducing the overall total potential cost of risk
Orange County, NC
NCACC Property Insurance Coverage Comparison to Alliant APIP
Limits and Sub-limits of Liability
$ 237,671,455 Total Insured Values (TIV)
$ 237,671,455 Up to 1,000,000,000 Per Occurrence: All Perils and Coverages combined, subject
to sub-limits:
$ 10,000,000 Up to 250,000,000 Earthquake— Per Occurrence &Annual Aggregate
$ 10,000,000 Up to 250,000,000 Flood— Per Occurrence &Annual Aggregate
1,000,000 TBD Special Flood Hazard Areas (SFHA)
$ 60,000,000 Up to Policy Limit Named Storm— Per Occurrence &Annual Aggregate
- 33- mant
