DocuSign Envelope ID: 17405374-3F52-4EE3-A40B-COBD1 EOB0058
R ESPONSE TO RFQ#5328 FOR INSURANCE BROKER AND RM CONSULTING SERVICES
ORANGE COUNTY,NC I SEPTEMBER 30,2021
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
We understand that the County has been a long-standing client of the North Carolina Association of
County Commissioners (NCACC) insurance program. We have thoroughly reviewed that program and
have made numerous recommendations to the County when we determined the terms and conditions
of the program offered by NCACC to be less than optimal. We drove changes in that program that
have dramatically improved the County's risk profile without any increase in price. However, additional
enhancements are warranted. We know the NCACC program well and are the broker best suited to
continue enhancing the current program or to provide competitive options outside of the program.
When NCACC could not offer sufficient terms and conditions to meet exposures faced by the County,
(i.e. cyber and environmental liability policies) your team placed those line of coverage outside of the
NCACC program.
Integrity and Professionalism: Alliant has high standards of integrity and professionalism. We
understand that public entities have long memories, and we know our reputation is both a valuable
corporate and personal asset.Alliant recognizes the importance of our role in representing the County
and its citizens to the insurance underwriting community.
Alliant has a well-developed and refined brokerage and risk management consulting practice. We
regard each client relationship as unique and will approach our relationship with the County without
any preconceived notions as to how best to meet the County's needs. The proposed service team will
work every day to maintain our strong reputation as your risk management partner.
Fair Compensation: Our proposed compensation is at a level we believe fairly represents the value of
our time, service commitment, proprietary products, broking expertise, knowledge of your current
program, and specific needs outlined in the solicitation. We understand that these are challenging
financial times for public entities. Budgets are thin and resources are stretched within every agency we
work with. These challenges are exacerbated by the hardest insurance market seen in the past 30 years.
We support the mission of your risk management department to be good stewards of the financial
resources of the County's citizens.
Compensation paid to your broker is an extremely small component of your total cost of risk. Where
we excel is in identifying numerous program design options, running each option through a
comprehensive Total Cost of Risk analysis and then making a recommendation to you as to which
program best meets the needs of the County.
In Summary: Alliant takes no exception to the service requirements outlined in the RFQ. We have the
requisite resources to not only meet but to far exceed your needs and requirements. Your proposed
service team has thoroughly enjoyed the relationship we have fostered with the County as your trusted
advisor and we are excited about the prospect of remaining in that role for many years to come.
- 6 - Affiant
