Please briefly describe the proposed program, including an explanation of how it aligns with <br />the Town of Chapel Hill and Carrboro’s Results Framework, and Orange County BOCC Goals <br />and Priorities, and the target population to benefit from the program. (100 words or less) <br /> <br />Based on the transformative power of storytelling, our LAG program shares the rich local history <br />of Northside and other historically black neighborhoods in Chapel Hill with K-12 students, <br />primarily in Chapel Hill, Carrboro, and Orange County. Our workshops bring oral histories into <br />classrooms through multimedia, experiential and now virtual presentations and hands-on <br />activities often featuring interactions between students and our Community Mentor Team, <br />veterans of the local Civil Rights Movement.
