list is a staff recommendation and the council can use this as a guide for the Master Plan <br /> 2030 and the upcoming annual report for the BOCC. <br /> b. 2022 Council Work Plan-Brainstorming—Stancil presented the annual report and <br /> work plan for the BOCC. The council spent time reviewing plans the council would like <br /> to carry out in 2022 and concerns or emerging issues the board wishes to bring to the <br /> BOCC's attention. Stancil was asked to bring back a draft for approval in December. <br /> Report of the Director- <br /> a. Project/Program Updates- Stancil discussed the Greene Tract email received and <br /> groups associated with the planning for the Greene Tract. He suggested to the council <br /> that the Commission for the Environment was also interested in the proposed nature <br /> preserve portion of the property, and that a joint sub-committee with the Commission on <br /> the Environment(CFE)could be created to help develop plans for the preserve areas. <br /> Stancil then gave an update on Blackwood Farm Park construction,challenges with <br /> parking at Soccer.com and upcoming events this month and in November, including the <br /> Soccer Showcase that will bring revenue to Orange County. Stancil also gave an update <br /> on the Mountain to Sea Trail(MST) first easement in the Cane Creek area of Orange <br /> County that will be presented to the BOCC at its meeting later this month. <br /> b. December 1 meeting(Racial Equity Plan,Fairview landfill)—Stancil reviewed the <br /> Fairview landfill and the progress of the project's report. He discussed the Racial Equity <br /> Plan presentation from the IWPG meeting in October and proposed that the short <br /> presentation may be able to be shown to the council at the December meeting. <br /> Council and Committee Reports: <br /> a. Intergovernmental Parks Work Group (next mtg April 13) - Stancil provided a review <br /> of the IPWG meeting held on October 13. He stated both Hillsborough and Chapel Hill <br /> are interested in parks and recreation surveys, and there may be opportunities to <br /> collaborate with the PRC in 2022 to conduct these surveys. <br /> b. Items from the Council-None <br /> c. Friends of Orange County Parks and Recreation(FOPR) -Gina Reyman showed the <br /> council an example website design for FOPR. Reyman stated that they are interested in <br /> the recruitment of other board members. Reyman reviewed what the FOPR is as an <br /> organization and how they plan to support PRC. Chair Greeson added that there are <br /> opportunities that the group can help with right now in relation to monetary needs. John <br /> asked about photos to use for the website. Stancil said photos can be provided for their <br /> website. Reyman ended by offering an invitation to those interested in joining. <br /> Next Meeting: December 1, 6:30 pm. <br /> Adjournment: Chair Greeson adjourned meeting at 7:59pm. <br />
