This allows for Orange County's priority— NC- <br /> 86 improvement from US-70 to NC-57 —to be added to the 2050 MTP. <br /> OUTBoard Action <br /> On September 15, 2021, the Orange Unified Transportation Board (OUTBoard) provided the <br /> memo at Attachment 5 for the BOCC's consideration. Highlights of OUTBoards comments <br /> are provided below: <br /> • The OUTBoard recommends that Orange County collaborate with other local <br /> jurisdictions to add off-street bicycle and pedestrian corridors within Orange County to <br /> the MTP, with an emphasis on linking parks, population centers, and other <br /> destinations. <br /> • Recreational facilities available for the public use in a manner that is multi- <br /> generational and accessible to all county citizens at both the countywide and <br /> community level. (Orange County Comprehensive Plan - Park and Recreation Goal <br /> #3) <br /> • An efficient and integrated multi-modal transportation system that protects the natural <br /> environment and community character.
