Attaclunent 4 <br />Job Duties <br />Medical Reserve Corps Volunteer Coordinator <br />Orange County Health Department <br />1. Recruit medical personnel, develop volunteer role descriptions, verify credentials, <br />develop training, and evaluate training.. <br />Medical reserve corps will include nurses, pharmacists, social workers, physicians, health <br />educators, laboratorians, and others.. <br />2, Identify and deploy Medical Reserve Corps volunteers to effectively respond to <br />emergency situations and to address public health needs and problems throughout the <br />year. <br />3, Identify potential pools of volunteers; coordinate with partner agencies in recruitment <br />efforts assuring non-duplication of efforts; maintain interest and commitment of recruits, <br />4. Develop training curriculum in conjunction with partners (Red Cross, EMS, <br />University of North Carolina, etc.), identify resources to undertake training; assist with <br />training presentations, pazticipate in coordination of emergency exercise program.. <br />Training will include topics such as disaster response roles, psychological support of <br />victims, specific training for each job description such as history screener, etc, <br />5. Assess volunteer coordination efforts to assure program objectives are met and <br />deployment is successful. Assist with program revision based on evaluation. Prepare <br />Medical Reserve Corps Federal Grant reports as required, <br />6. Develop/manage a database of Volunteers -demographics, service area, credentials, <br />specialty areas, experience, training history, deployment so that the data can be accessed <br />to secure volunteers when needed, <br />7, Assist with development of press releases, PSAs, and articles with regard to <br />Volunteer Medical Reserve Corps advocacy, recruitment, and sustainability. Make <br />presentations to community groups regarding Medical Reserve Corps. Honor and <br />appreciate volunteers on a regular basis.. <br />8. Secure training resources, manage materials, and administer grant. <br />9. Serve on committees/task forces addressing Orange County's emergency response <br />needs (i.e. Epi Tearn, Bioten-orism Response Team, Red Cross Disaster Committee, etc..) <br />Coordinate with Community Response Team and Lnmigrant Communication <br />Conunittees already functioning tluough Emergency Management. <br />31 <br />
