Begin recruitment efforts for additional medical professionals for MRC by June 30, 2004. • Obtain current databases of Orange County licensed nurses and pharmacists to begin recruitment of additional nurse and pharmacist volunteers. • Collaborate with UNC School of Social Work and Orange County Department of Social Services on social worker recruitment efforts. • Contact State Social Worker licensing board to explore procurement of Licensed Clinical Social Worker database, • Collaborate with the iTNC health professional schools and State licensing boards to identify additional medical professional recruitment targets such as laboratory technicians, epidemiologists, biostatiticians, physicians, physician assistants, dentists, dental assistants, certified nursing assistants, veterinarians, vet technicians, etc. 2. In collaboration with community partners, participate in tabletop and actual training drills in prepaz'ation for activation and deployment of volunteer MIZC by June 3Q 2004, 3. Activate MRC unit to respond to any emergency events. Deploy, monitor and evaluate volunteers and document type of emergency, number of volunteers responding, and volunteer participants' evaluation of the event and response effort. All nurses and other UNC Hospital employees must be identified upon,joining the MRC. UNC Hospital employees must report to the hospital if required before assisting in any public health response efforts. Close collaboration with UNC Hospitals must occur for coordination of volunteers when mass casualty response is not necessary or when all off-duty nurses are not needed for small-scale mass casualty responses. 14
