Year-to-Date Budget Rebecca Crawford, (919) 245-2152 <br /> Summary Gary Donaldson, (919) 245-2453 <br /> PURPOSE: To approve budget, grant, and capital project ordinance amendments for Fiscal Year <br /> 2021-22. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> Department of Social Services <br /> 1. The Department of Social Services has been allocated $32,956 in American Rescue Plan <br /> Act (ARPA) funding and $12,104 in Consolidated Appropriations Act (CAA) funding by the <br /> state to be used for administration of the Food and Nutrition Services Programs. <br /> SOCIAL JUSTICE IMPACT: The following Orange County Social Justice Goals are <br /> applicable to this item: <br /> • GOAL: ENSURE ECONOMIC SELF-SUFFICIENCY <br /> The creation and preservation of infrastructure, policies, programs and funding <br /> necessary for residents to provide shelter, food, clothing and medical care for <br /> themselves and their dependents. <br /> • GOAL: FOSTER A COMMUNITY CULTURE THAT REJECTS OPPRESSION <br /> AND INEQUITY <br /> The fair treatment and meaningful involvement of all people regardless of race or <br /> color; religious or philosophical beliefs; sex, gender or sexual orientation; national <br /> origin or ethnic background; age; military service; disability; and familial, residential <br /> or economic status. <br /> Library Services <br /> 2. The department has received $12,935 from the Orange County Friends of the Library to <br /> cover the costs of inclusive departmental programming, professional membership dues, <br /> and conference fees. This amendment recognizes the receipt of this donation. <br />
