Cameron St. <br />Hillsborough, NC 27278 <br /> <br />Dear Ms. May: <br /> <br />The Orange County Housing Authority (OCHA) Board voted in September over email (due to COVID <br />restrictions preventing an in-person meeting) to recommend the appointment of new Board members Mr. <br />Dennis Carmody and Ms. Valerie Sauer. <br /> <br />The OCHA Board cited both applicants’ experience with local government in their decisions. Mr. <br />Carmody has years of experiencing serving on his communities’ HOA Boards, plus a specific lens of <br />disability rights. Ms. Sauer has long experience working in affordable housing and with vulnerable <br />communities in the area, such as those experiencing domestic violence..
