She said some students are taking 5 years to graduate. She said schools are assessed <br /> on a four-year graduation rate, but it is not unreasonable to think children might need a longer <br /> time to graduate. She said having the diploma after 5 years is more valuable than a GED or <br /> dropping out. <br /> Dr. Meghan Doyle said the schools have embarked on a four-year process to engage <br /> with all stakeholders, for which there is an equity emphasis on each goal. She said keeping <br /> data at the forefront is important while moving through the strategic plan. She said it is crucial <br /> to align school goals with strategic goals of the district. She said she is hearing the Board's <br /> collective desire for students to perform to the best of their ability. She said it is important to <br /> engage students in decision-making, and identify culturally relevant strategies to help children <br /> be successful. She said the district has to think about materials being used. She said some <br /> students will be wildly successful, despite their performance in school. She said it is important <br />
