P a g e 14 o f 20

19. How many tons of greenhouse gas emissions will your project reduce/avoid each year? Each year,
our proposed project will reduce/avoid an estimated 47 tons of greenhouse gas emissions. Each of
the ten houses will reduce carbon emissions by approximately 4.7 tons each year.

20. For how many years will this emissions reduction take place as a result of your project? Please
consider the expected lifetime of the technology/program/impact etc. Over the estimated 30-year
lifetime of the rooftop solar panels, this project will reduce carbon emissions by a total of
approximately 1,140 tons.

21. Please describe the location of the emissions reduction. Where would fossil fuels have been burned
if not for your project? For projects creating electricity usage reductions, it can be difficult to
determine the location of the power produced. Please feel free to state “Grid-tied electricity
reduction.” Our project will reduce emissions through grid-tied electricity reduction.

22. Please describe any other aspect of your project that is relevant to the amount of emissions that it
will reduce or avoid. Adding rooftop solar panels to houses encourages orientation of the houses to
solar south and increases awareness of the benefits of other passive solar changes in home design.

Efficient use of Funds

23. Please estimate the impact of your project per grant dollar requested.
This cost per unit of impact must reflect the total program budget divided by the total impact of
the project described in this application. If the proposed project is new, please write N/A in the
first column of the table below, and just fill out the second column.

Actual 2019-20 Project
Costs
(If your proposed project
expands or accelerates an
ongoing effort)
Projected Project
Costs
Total Cost of Project n/a
The full market cost
of rooftop solar
panels on ten homes
is approximately
$165,550.
Unit of Impact:
Total # of tons of greenhouse
gases reduced
n/a 1,410 tons for 10
houses over 30 years
Cost Per Ton of GHG’s Reduced n/a $117 per ton
Unit of Impact:
Total # of individuals
served/benefitted
n/a 10 families
Cost Per Individual
Served/Benefitted n/a
$4,139 per person,
assuming four people
per household on
average
DocuSign Envelope ID: 0E2E518B-BEF7-4AF0-8D07-FCD05F094BD6
