in place, we ran a scaled-back in-person ArtsCamp <br />• W e serv ed 440 children ages K-12 <br />• Offered 9 weeks of camp <br />• Held a total of 62 camp sessions. <br />For ArtsCamp 2021 we <br />• Offered 166 camps, almost 40 more than 2019 <br />• Offered in-person, online and hybrid options so that families can <br />participate at their comfort lev el. <br />• Increased our offerings in camps focused on STEAM (science, <br />technology, engineering, art, and mathematics) such as <br />o “Stop Motion Animation” <br />o “Puppetry” <br />o “Play Production” <br />o “If it Flies” <br />o “Artful Scientists” <br />o “Little Builders” <br />W e are thrilled that with the support of the Orange County Art <br />Commission and despite CV-19 constraints, for the 2020-21 school <br />year, TAC was able to prov ide v irtual fiv e-day residencies in 12 grade <br />lev el classrooms, and v irtual school shows for all 28 grade lev el <br />classrooms at our four Title 1 school partners in Orange County <br />Schools. In choosing both the residencies as well as school shows, a <br />significant effort was made to ensure that themes of div ersity, equity, <br />accessibility, and inclusion were incorporated into the programs. <br />These programs helped these students process their own feelings <br />and learn the importance of embracing our differences, striv ing to <br />learn from one another to become more empathetic. This learned <br />skill impacts their daily liv es as well as our greater community. <br />Children with strong empathy are less likely to bully or show signs of <br />aggression. In our society's efforts to end racism, empathy becomes <br />our most powerful tool. <br />Through piv oting, we successfully kept our ArtSchool programs and <br />our performances activ e through streaming and small in-person <br />gatherings. W ith online classes and streamed performances, we <br />reached patrons near and far. Our instructors are now all trained in <br />and offering online instruction.
