Sanitary Facilities: Provide temporary containers to dispense drinking water and general washing <br />facilities for construction personnel meeting the requirements of the Health Department with <br />authority. Contractor’s personnel shall not use Owner’s restroom facilities. <br /> <br />E. Existing Utilities: On-site underground utilities shall be located and marked by an independent <br />locating service at the Contractor’s expense. Location and marking are necessary if excavation <br />work will be performed or if heavy equipment, vehicle, or other construction traffic will occur <br />over portions of the site. Contractor shall pay for damage to interruption of any utility service <br />due to construction activities. <br /> <br />1.03 ACCESS TO THE SITE <br /> <br />A. Access to the site and parking may be restricted to storage and staging areas as designated on the <br />design drawings or as otherwise required by the Owner. Provide all Contractor employees with <br />visible identification (badges, shirts, or hardhats) bearing the name of the Contractor and/or <br />employee. Employees not displaying identification may be required to leave the site. <br /> <br />B. Contractor’s personnel shall coordinate with the Orange County Asset Management point of <br />contact prior to performing work on the building interior. Contractor’s personnel shall only <br />communicate with designated personnel at the site. Conduct by the Contractor’s personnel that <br />causes any complaint will result in the permanent removal of the offending individual(s) from the <br />site. <br /> <br />1.04 PROTECTION AND RESTORATION <br /> <br />A. Perform a Pre-Job Damage Survey prior to the start of construction in accordance with Section <br />024110 of this Project Manual. Protect existing building, adjacent buildings, walkways, grass <br />areas, landscaping, paved and concrete parking lots, brick pavers, and other site features and <br />equipment from damage as a result of construction operations. Any damaged items or conditions <br />not documented in the Pre-Job Damage Survey to have been existing prior to the start of <br />construction, shall be considered to have been damaged by construction activities and shall be <br />restored to their original condition, or replaced, at no cost to the Owner. Whenever demolition, <br />patching or restoration is required for completion of the work, provide protection of site and <br />building features regardless of being shown or not shown on the drawings. Repair of grass areas, <br />walkways, landscaping and other site features damaged by construction activities shall be <br />performed to the satisfaction of the Owner to meet the condition of the feature prior to <br />construction activities. It is recommended that the Contractor discuss expectations for <br />landscaping and grass repair, and/or sodding with the Owner during bidding, and prior to the start <br />of work. <br /> <br />B. Protect interior finishes, equipment and other building user property located inside the building as <br />necessary. Contractor shall be responsible for damages resulting from construction activities <br />including damages to interior finishes, County property, and personal property of building occupants <br />within the building. In areas where the underside of the roof deck is exposed to the interior, the <br />Contractor must place temporary protection (loose plastic) over interior contents in the area(s) <br />directly beneath the roof area to be removed.
