<br />015000.1 - CONSTRUCTION FACILITIES <br /> <br />Project Manual for Motor Pool Main Building Roof Replacement <br />Orange County, Hillsborough, NC <br />Prepared by Atlas Engineering, Inc., 551-A Pylon Drive – Raleigh, NC 27606 <br />August 2021 <br />SECTION 015000 <br /> <br />CONSTRUCTION FACILITES <br /> <br />PART 1 GENERAL <br /> <br />1.01 SITE CONDITIONS AND PRE-JOB DAMAGE SURVEY <br /> <br />A. The Contractor is to accept the building “as is” and shall exercise care to protect existing utilities, <br />site, and building components. Verify existing conditions and notify Owner and Designer should <br />the conditions vary significantly from those described in the technical specifications and <br />drawings. Should minor conditions be encountered which are not exactly as indicated, <br />modification to accommodate new work shall be made as required at no additional cost to the <br />Owner. <br /> <br />B. The Contractor shall perform and submit a Pre-Job Damage Survey to document existing <br />conditions and specific damages/defects to existing building or building components. Pre-Job <br />Damage Survey shall be provided in accordance with Section 024110 of these specifications and <br />must be completed prior to the start of staging, storage, or material delivery to the site. <br /> <br />1.02 TEMPORARY FACILITES <br /> <br />A. Temporary Water: Water for construction will be furnished by the Owner from existing facilities <br />if exterior connections are available, functioning, and adequate for use. Required connections <br />and extensions for temporary use shall be provided by the Contractor from a point designated by <br />the Owner. Temporary connection to existing water must be turned off and disconnected with not <br />in use or when Contractor is not on site. Abuse of water privilege shall be grounds for <br />cancellation of same by Owner. Contractor will be responsible for providing water if existing <br />facility connections do not exist, are not functioning, or are inadequate for the needs of the <br />Contractor during the project. If provision of temporary water is critical to installation or proper <br />equipment function, the Contractor is responsible for confirming existing availability prior to <br />bidding and should provide, as a part of his work and within his Base Bid, any supplemental <br />water required for proper installation of the work. <br /> <br />B. Temporary Power: Power for construction will be furnished by the Contractor unless otherwise <br />agreed upon by the Owner. If the Owner agrees to provide temporary power, and existing <br />exterior power supply is adequate for required equipment and installation, the required <br />connections and extensions for temporary use shall be provided by the Contractor from a point <br />designated by the Owner. The Contractor shall provide required distribution boxes, grounding <br />requirements and breaker protection. Contractor shall be responsible for the coordination and cost <br />of any required inspection of temporary power components. Abuse of power privilege shall be <br />grounds for cancellation of same by Owner. <br /> <br />C. Toilet Facilities: Provide temporary toilet facilities meeting the requirements of the Health <br />Department with authority.
