New roof system must meet the requirements for UL <br />Class A fire classification and wind uplift resistance in accordance with these <br />specifications, the North Carolina State Building Code and be eligible for the specified <br />manufacturer warranty. Shingle nails are to be hand driven unless otherwise approved by <br />the Designer. <br /> <br />14. Remove existing sealant around the perimeters of the window/louver frames on the south <br />elevation. Clean and prime the surfaces to be sealed prior to start of reinstallation. Install <br />new bond breaker tape and sealant around the perimeter of the frames. Sealant work <br />must be completed prior to installation of metal wall panels. <br /> <br />15. Work must be carefully sequenced between asphalt shingled roof system installation, <br />perimeter sheetmetal flashings, trim, gutters, etc. and metal wall panel rainscreen to <br />ensure proper installation and to maintain the roof system in a watertight condition. Refer <br />to Section 015000 for additional requirements. <br /> <br />16. In areas where the underside of the deck is exposed, the Contractor shall coordinate with <br />the Owner to provide temporary protection (loose plastic) over interior equipment, <br />finishes, or contents that could be damaged by small dust/debris from roof replacement <br />activities. Plastic should be removed at the end of the workday. <br /> <br />17. Provide and install other accessory or incidental components, or modify other roof <br />features/items, not specifically listed or shown on drawings, but required for the complete <br />and proper installation of the new roof system. <br /> <br />18. Roof system including membrane, flashings, and accessory components shall be installed <br />in a watertight condition and with an overall quality of system installation that will allow <br />the membrane and flashings to continue to perform in a watertight condition, with <br />reasonable maintenance, over its manufacturer warranty period. <br /> <br />Note: <br />- Provide construction fencing installed around the perimeter of the project staging and storage <br />limits as defined on the site plan. The fence shall be constructed of heavy-duty chain link <br />materials, have a minimum height of six feet and shall have a continuous top tubular rail. <br />The fencing must use non-penetrating posts set in weighted bases. Swing gates shall be <br />included at every access to the enclosed area. When the project is complete, fencing must be <br />removed and ground contours restored to original condition. <br />- Provide overhead protection for the entrances/egress from the building. <br />- A hot work permit may be required and the contractor must follow all permit requirements. <br />If a hot work permit is required, a fire watch will be required. <br />- The workers may not have contact with the building occupants. <br />- No offensive decals/logos are to be worn on clothing or shown on vehicles. <br />- The use of tobacco products is not allowed on the campus. <br />- Notify Designer and Owner a minimum of 48 hours before manufacturer’s visit. <br />- Contractor shall provide a foreman or a representative from the Contractor that is in a <br />supervisory position that is familiar with the installation of the new roof system and who will <br />be on the site anytime that work by the Contractor or one of his Subcontractors is in progress. <br />The Contractor must provide a representative that is fluent in English on-site at all times <br />DocuSign Envelope ID: 9514E4EC-C3C9-4752-8A7F-22E83B22BB8E
