<br />230800.1- GENERAL MECHANICAL AND ELECTRICAL REQUIREMENTS <br /> <br />Project Manual for Motor Pool Main Building Roof Replacement <br />Orange County, Hillsborough, NC <br />Prepared by Atlas Engineering, Inc., 551-A Pylon Drive – Raleigh, NC 27606 <br />August 2021 <br /> <br />SECTION 230800 <br /> <br />GENERAL MECHANICAL AND ELECTRICAL REQUIREMENTS <br /> <br />PART 1 GENERAL <br /> <br />1.01 WORK INCLUDED <br /> <br />A. Provide labor, materials, equipment, coordination and supervision necessary for disconnection, <br />relocation, reinstallation, reconnection, and minor modification of existing rooftop mechanical <br />equipment or penetrations, and the utilities serving them including, but not limited to: conduit, duct <br />work, electrical wiring, communications, controls, pneumatic lines, and/or mechanical <br />components/services associated with raisin, lifting, or otherwise disturbing existing components <br />during roof replacement work. Coordinate work with the Owner’s Representative. <br /> <br />B. Provide materials, equipment and supervision necessary for other miscellaneous electrical and/or <br />mechanical work not specifically listed but required for complete and proper installation of the work <br />as specified herein or shown on the drawings. <br /> <br />C. Coordinate any inspections required for mechanical, electrical, or plumbing work performed <br />with public agency providing the building permit for the work. Inspections must be <br />scheduled to be timely and not delay the project progress. <br /> <br />1.02 QUALITY ASSURANCE <br /> <br />A. Perform mechanical and electrical work in accordance with the latest adopted editions of the North <br />Carolina State Building Code, The North Carolina Department of Administration Electrical <br />Guidelines and Policies the National Mechanical Code, the National Electrical Code, EPA, NFPA, <br />and other applicable Owner-permitted regulations. <br /> <br />B. In addition to compliance with laws and regulations stated in Paragraph 1.02A, work shall conform <br />to applicable standards of UL, ASME, ANSI, and other authorities or agencies to which specific <br />reference is made by specifications and/or by the manufacturer’s installation instructions. <br /> <br />C. Work must be performed by licensed electrical or mechanical contractors that are currently approved <br />by the Owner to perform work at their facilities. Contact information regarding approved contractors <br />can be obtained from the Owner’s Representative. <br /> <br />D. The Contractor shall secure and pay for all necessary permits, fees and inspections and prepare all <br />drawings required by applicable state and local codes. <br /> <br />F. Check all equipment/components to ensure it is in proper working order prior to construction. Notify <br />the Designer/Owner of any equipment that is damaged or is not working properly.
