<br />076200.9 – FLASHING AND SHEET METAL <br /> <br />Project Manual for Motor Pool Main Building Roof Replacement <br />Orange County, Hillsborough, NC <br />Prepared by Atlas Engineering, Inc., 551-A Pylon Drive – Raleigh, NC 27606 <br />August 2021 <br /> <br />D. Downspouts shall be rectangular in shape and shall be secured to walls with matching metal <br />straps. Downspout seams shall be concealed along the back surface of or behind the downspout to <br />reduce visibility. <br /> <br />E. Provide protective downspout boots at the bottom 2’ of the new downspouts and make connection <br />with existing underground drainage lines (or discharge onto grade where underground drainage is <br />not existing). Provide concrete splashblocks beneath discharge to grade. At landscaped/grass areas, <br />grid-style pavers shall be used in lieu of splashblocks and shall be set into the grade to be level or no <br />more than ½” above grade. (Erase if these will not be included in the scope of work). <br /> <br />F. Install pre-fabricated gutter guard to be secured to the gutter in accordance with the manufacturer’s <br />installation instructions. <br /> <br />3.07 CLEAN-UP <br /> <br />A. Clean and neutralize all sealant and other materials from the flashing and roof surfaces. Remove <br />loose fasteners from the roof and site on a daily basis. <br /> <br />B. Remove any protective plastic materials from the surfaces of the pre-finished metals promptly upon <br />installation. <br /> <br />C. Handprints, smudges and other superficial stains that were placed on the sheet metal during <br />fabrication and installation shall be removed. <br /> <br />D. Abrasions, scratches, scrapes, etc. shall be touched up with paint furnished by the sheet metal <br />manufacturer. <br /> <br />3.08 FIELD QUALITY CONTROL <br /> <br />A. A set of roof plans, details, and specification sections shall be in the possession of the roofing <br />foreman at all times during roof system installation. On-site roofing personnel must be familiar <br />with the requirements of the design documents for the specific project. <br /> <br />B. Correct defects and irregularities documented by the Designer or Owner’s representative promptly <br />upon notification. <br /> <br />C.
