<br />073113.10 – ASPHALT SHINGLED ROOF SYSTEM <br /> <br />Project Manual for Motor Pool Main Building Roof Replacement <br />Orange County, Hillsborough, NC <br />Prepared by Atlas Engineering, Inc., 551-A Pylon Drive – Raleigh, NC 27606 <br />August 2021 <br /> <br />be removed from the work area and disposed of offsite. None of these materials shall remain or <br />be reused in the new system installation. <br /> <br />B. Discovery of water entry into the building during inclement weather must be immediately <br />followed by action by the Contractor or representative to prevent or limit damage or effect on <br />interior finishes and materials. Immediate preventative actions shall be followed promptly by <br />temporary repair activities to reduce or stop water entry into the roof system. If water entry into <br />the roof system occurs, the affected materials shall be removed back to dry/sound materials and <br />replaced with new materials at the Contractor’s expense. <br /> <br />C. If water entry into the building occurs, the Contractor must promptly review and agree upon the <br />damages with the Owner’s representative. Repairs to the interior finishes must be completed <br />promptly within a scheduled time frame agreed upon by the Owner. Replacement, repair, or <br />reimbursement for damaged interior materials (equipment, books, furniture, etc.) must be <br />completed promptly within a scheduled time frame agreed upon by the Owner. If the timeline <br />provided by the Contractor is not satisfactory to the Owner, and an agreement cannot be promptly <br />reached, the Owner reserves the right to perform such repairs or replacements and shall deduct <br />the cost of repairs from the Contract Sum. <br /> <br />D. The Contractor shall coordinate with the Owner if they would like to provide afterhours <br />protection of interior materials (computers, equipment, finishes) at areas of specific concern or <br />liability. Installation of protection such as plastic sheets, etc. shall be performed by the <br />Contractor’s personnel with the advance acceptance of Construction Management personnel and <br />building occupants. Installations shall not damage permanent materials or finishes. Contractor <br />shall be responsible for removal of the temporary protection for normal use of the interior <br />contents during standard building hours. <br /> <br />3.09 JOB COMPLETION <br /> <br />A. Inspect completed roofing and correct defects to meet the specification requirements prior to <br />request for pre-final inspection by the Engineer and Owner. <br /> <br />B. Clean up debris, excess materials and equipment, and remove from site. <br /> <br />C.
