Store flammable products away from sparks or open flames. <br /> <br />D. Store roofing materials at a minimum of forty-five (45) degrees Fahrenheit prior to use as <br />recommended by the roof membrane system manufacturer. Protect material from freezing. <br /> <br />1.05 ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS <br /> <br />A. Proceed with roofing work only when weather conditions comply with roof system <br />manufacturer’s recommendations. Do not violate temperature limitations recommended by the <br />manufacturer. <br /> <br />B. Take special care if applying self-adhering waterproof underlayment when ambient or wind chill <br />temperature is below 45° F (7 °C). Fasten/tack the underlayment in place if immediate adhesion <br />to the deck does not occur. <br /> <br />1.06 WARRANTIES <br /> <br />A. Provide a Contractor’s 5-year Warranty for all work included in the project. This warranty shall <br />include workmanship, materials of the roofing systems against leakage and against defects due to <br />faulty materials, workmanship and contract negligence following acceptance of the project by the <br />Owner, and will be provided in addition to the roof system manufacturer’s warranties. The <br />warranty will extend for a period of sixty (60) months from the date of Final Completion unless <br />otherwise agreed upon by the Owner and Designer. <br /> <br />B. Provide Roof System Manufacturer’s 40-year limited system warranty covering labor and <br />materials for replacement or repair for manufacturing defects in the shingles. The warranty shall <br />also include a clause for a 10-year algae resistance warranty or a separate algae resistance <br />warranty may be provided. The warranty shall also include a clause for a 10-year wind warranty <br />for the rated wind speed (110 mph). The warranty will begin from the date of Final Completion <br />unless otherwise agreed upon by the Owner and Designer. <br /> <br />C. Provide an extended roof system manufacturer’s warranty covering material and labor costs for <br />repairs or replacement, disposal costs, and workmanship defects for a minimum period of 5 years <br />from the date of Final Completion unless otherwise agreed upon by the Owner and Designer. <br />This warranty shall be provided in addition to the roof system manufacturer’s limited warranty <br />and shall not be subrogated to the installing contractor. <br /> <br />D. Provide other standard available manufacturer’s material warranties as applicable. <br /> <br />1.07 EXTRA MATERIALS <br /> <br />A. Provide adequate shingle “attic” stock to the Owner to allow for isolated repairs totaling 200 <br />square feet of the type specified.
