<br />073113.2 – ASPHALT SHINGLED ROOF SYSTEM <br /> <br />Project Manual for Motor Pool Main Building Roof Replacement <br />Orange County, Hillsborough, NC <br />Prepared by Atlas Engineering, Inc., 551-A Pylon Drive – Raleigh, NC 27606 <br />August 2021 <br /> <br />D. Maintain one copy of this project manual, the design drawings, and the manufacturer's application <br />instructions on project site. <br /> <br />1.03 SUBMITTALS <br /> <br />A. Submit written confirmation of contractor’s approved applicator’s status from the asphalt shingle <br />roof system manufacturer. <br /> <br />B. Submit color charts for shingles and associated samples of asphalt shingles in either the color <br />selected by the Owner or as a variety to show available color selections. Provide a 6" x 6" sample <br />of underlayment and samples of other accessories (as requested), with manufacturer’s <br />identification labels attached. <br /> <br />C. Submit product data for each product listed in this specification section and others required by the <br />asphalt shingle roof system manufacturer for a complete installation of the work. Submit <br />applicable SDS sheets for products to be used during installation. <br /> <br />D. Submit asphalt shingle manufacturer’s application manuals, which describe completely the <br />preparation of surfaces and application of specified materials. <br /> <br />E. Submit shop drawings showing detail, fabrication, and fastening devices for each condition <br />encountered. Shop drawings must be signed as approved by the shingle manufacturer when they <br />vary from the manufacturer’s standard details. <br /> <br />F. Submit a sample copy of the asphalt shingle roof system manufacturer’s warranties. Although <br />the warranties may be sample copies they should bear the project name and have any warranty <br />lengths marked on them or in an accompanying letter from the manufacturer to confirm they meet <br />the specified requirements. <br /> <br />G. Certificate of Compliance: Provide Certificate of Compliance from an independent laboratory <br />indicating that the asphalt fiber glass shingles made in normal production meet or exceed the <br />requirements of the following: <br /> <br />1. ASTM E 108/UL 790 Class A Fire Resistance. <br />2. ASTM D 3161/UL 997 Wind Resistance for 110 mph wind speed (Class F) <br />3. ASTM D 3462: Standard Specification for Asphalt Shingles Made from Glass Felt and <br />Surfaced with Mineral Granules. <br /> <br />1.04 DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING <br /> <br />A. Deliver roofing materials and accessories in manufacturer’s original protective containers with <br />labels intact and legible. Comply with manufacturer’s published instructions for storage and <br />handling. <br /> <br />B.
