If <br />fastener pull-out values performed by the Contractor prior to start of work indicate that specified <br />fastening patterns will not meet this requirement, increase the number of fasteners as necessary to <br />meet requirement. <br /> <br />E. Fasteners shall be positioned 6" from each end and a maximum of 12″ on center and staggered 1/3 <br />the nailer width. Two fasteners shall be installed at ends of nailer lengths. Wood nailer pieces shall <br />be no less than 12″ in length and shall be secured with a minimum of two fasteners per piece. <br /> <br />F. All nailers shall finish flush with the insulation. <br /> <br />G. Install new wood materials true to line, level, plumb, and securely fastened to the approved substrate <br />with fastener type and fastening requirements as specified. <br /> <br />H. New wood nailers shall have a 1/4" gap between each length. <br /> <br />I. Where new or raised wood curbs are to be installed, corners shall be formed by lapping side <br />members alternately. <br /> <br />3.03 OSB REPLACEMENT <br /> <br />A. Remove damaged/deteriorated portion of OSB when it has delaminated from the insulation <br />beneath. <br /> <br />B. Cut new OSB to fit size of removed section. Allow for a minimum 1/8" gap between the boards <br />for movement. Joints of new OSB board should be installed with 1/8” gaps. <br /> <br />C. Secure the OSB to the cementitious wood fiber deck through the insulation with fasteners @ 12” <br />o.c. along the perimeters and no more than 24” o.c. in the field of the OSB board. <br /> <br />3.04 CEMENTITIOUS WOOD FIBER COMPOSITE DECK REPLACEMENT <br /> <br />A. At locations where the existing composite roof deck is damaged full depth or the cementitious <br />wood fiber portion of the deck is damaged, remove the damaged/deteriorated portion of the plank <br />deck down to the steel structure. Unless otherwise recommended by the manufacturer, the new <br />deck should extend over a minimum of three spans. <br /> <br />B. Install construction adhesive along the top of the joist and panel edges in accordance with the <br />manufacturer’s requirements/recommendations. <br /> <br />C. Install new composite deck into opening. <br /> <br />D. Secure deck to the steel joist in accordance with the manufacturer’s requirement.
