Maintain temperature and humidity ranges required by the manufacturer for each product. <br /> <br />PART 2 PRODUCTS <br /> <br />2.01 MATERIALS <br /> <br />A. Wood Blocking (Treated): Shall be No. 2 or better southern yellow pine, kiln-dried prior to and to a <br />moisture content of not more than 19 percent. Shall be sound, thoroughly seasoned, dressed to <br />nominal finish dimension, and free of warpage, cupping, and bowing. All nailers and other blocking <br />associated with the roofing installation shall be pressure treated with 0.40 pcf retention of alkaline <br />copper quaternary (ACQ) and shall conform to AWPA Standard U1, to the requirements of use <br />category for ground contact. Asphaltic or creosote preservatives shall not be used. The presence of <br />AWPA mark confirming preservative type and retention (use category) on each piece is required. <br />Where full penetration of ACQ is not evident, field cuts shall be coated in accordance with AWPA <br />standard U1. Dimensions shall be determined by job conditions. Site-sawn ends shall be treated <br />with one coat of preservative treatment. <br /> <br />B. Oriented Strand Board Decking: Shall be stamped APA-rated minimum 24/16 span rating, Exposure <br />1. For oriented strand board installed to repair/replace existing materials, match the existing oriented <br />strand board thickness (field verify) exactly to maintain a flush surface with surrounding materials. <br />Secure OSB through insulation and into cementitious wood fiber deck below with nylon fasteners <br />specially sized and threaded for securement of insulation/decking to cementitious wood fiber plank. <br /> <br />C. Cementitious Wood Fiber Plank Deck: Shall be a composite of 7/16" OSB, 2.5" rigid insulation, <br />and 2" structural cementitious wood fiber deck. Deck shall meet minimum standards as Tectum E <br />Panel as manufactured by Armstrong Building Solutions. The deck must extend 3 spans. Fastening <br />and fastening pattern is to be provided by the manufacturer. Size to match existing. <br /> <br /> <br />2.02 ACCESSORIES <br /> <br />A. Fasteners specified shall be the minimum required product. If a condition exists that does not match <br />a fastener condition or type listed below, the Contractor may submit a separate type and profile of <br />fastener for review. All fasteners to be used to secure treated wood products must be a stainless <br />steel. <br /> <br />B. Wood to masonry/concrete: Minimum 1/4″ diameter stainless steel masonry/concrete anchors. <br />Where additional wood blocking, roof membrane, or sheetmetal flashing will cover the secured <br />wood component, anchor heads must be either countersunk or otherwise finish flush with the <br />surface of the wood. Minimum embedment into the substrate shall be 2″, unless otherwise <br />required by the manufacturer to meet required pull-out resistance. Pre-drill for fasteners as <br />required/recommended by the manufacturer, or necessary to prevent spalling of the substrate <br />material. Plastic or nylon anchors shall not be allowed.
