<br />061000.1 – ROUGH CARPENTRY <br /> <br /> <br />Project Manual for Motor Pool Main Building Roof Replacement <br />Orange County, Hillsborough, NC <br />Prepared by Atlas Engineering, Inc., 551-A Pylon Drive – Raleigh, NC 27606 <br />August 2021 <br />SECTION 061000 <br /> <br />ROUGH CARPENTRY <br /> <br />PART 1 GENERAL <br /> <br />1.01 WORK INCLUDED <br /> <br />A. Provide labor, materials, equipment and supervision necessary to complete the following work: <br /> <br />1. Install new perimeter wood blocking where shown on the design drawings or otherwise <br />required for proper installation of the work. Replace existing wood blocking that is intended <br />for reuse within the new roof system but is discovered to be missing, deteriorated, or <br />damaged. Estimated quantities for material replacement are included in Section 012100. <br /> <br />2. Replace existing oriented strand board that is intended for reuse but is discovered to be <br />deteriorated or damaged. Estimated quantities for material replacement are included in <br />Section 012100. <br /> <br />1.02 QUALITY ASSURANCE <br /> <br />A. Contractor shall provide sufficient qualified workmen and supervisors who shall be present at all <br />times during execution of this portion of the work and who shall be familiar with the type of <br />construction involved and the materials and techniques specified. <br /> <br />B. The Owner shall make no allowance for lack of skill of the workmen. <br /> <br />1.03 SUBMITTALS <br /> <br />A. Submit product data and SDS for each product listed in this specification section and others <br />required by the roof membrane manufacturer for a complete installation of the work. <br /> <br />B. Submit product data for each fastener type to be used in the securement of the blocking to wood <br />roof deck, steel, masonry, or other blocking, along with a physical sample of each fastener type <br />(if requested). Clearly mark product data sheets to confirm fastener type, length, and location of <br />intended use. The Contractor may re-submit additional fastener types and data if any change to <br />the fasteners to be used occurs. <br /> <br />1.04 DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING <br /> <br />A. Deliver roofing materials, insulation, and accessories in manufacturer’s original protective <br />containers with labels intact and legible. Comply with manufacturer’s published instructions for <br />storage and handling. <br /> <br />B. Store materials in dry protected areas, on clean, raised platforms with securely anchored weather <br />protective coverings in accordance with Section 016000. <br /> <br />C.
