Provide temporary weather and debris protection at all locations where existing building materials <br />are removed. Contractor shall be responsible for damages resulting from inadequate protection <br />and entry of water, debris or other items into the interior spaces. Refer to specific roof system <br />specification sections for additional requirements for weathertightness during construction. <br /> <br />D. Provide barriers around trees, plants and ground-mounted equipment. Tree protection fencing <br />must be installed at all trees located in the general vicinity of staging and storage, anticipated <br />equipment traffic routes, dumpsters and other construction activities unless otherwise agreed <br />upon with the Owner’s representative. Protect trees, landscaping, grass areas and other site <br />vegetation against vehicular traffic, stored materials, chemically injurious materials, and puddling <br />or continuous running water. <br /> <br />E. Comply with OSHA and other applicable safety regulations. Contractor shall be solely responsible <br />for the safety and health of its employees. <br /> <br />F. Provide temporary protection against damage of both stored and installed products. Damaged <br />materials or products shall be removed from the site and replaced at no cost to the Owner. <br /> <br />G. Limit traffic and storage to areas located on the site plan and agreed upon by the Owner’s <br />representatives. <br /> <br />H. Roof replacement must be sequenced to limit foot and equipment traffic over areas of new roof <br />system installation. Where foot and equipment traffic over the existing roof system is <br />unavoidable, provide protective walkways or other methods to adequately protect the new <br />materials. The Contractor is responsible for leaks in the existing roof system caused by or <br />exacerbated by construction traffic. <br /> <br />1.05 SITE CLEANING <br /> <br />A. Clean debris from construction activities daily at minimum, and directly following the end of a <br />work shift. Place debris in closed containers for removal from the site. <br /> <br />B. Clean up shall include removal of mud, oil, sand, dirt, trash, scrap, debris, and excess materials <br />from any areas outside of designated and barricaded storage area. <br /> <br />C. Cleaning of site and removal of debris shall be to the satisfaction of the Owner. Windy <br />conditions that cause blowing of materials or debris may require the Contractor to put in place <br />more restrictive cleaning and protection requirements. <br /> <br />1.06 STORAGE AREA <br /> <br />A. Limited storage and staging area will be provided on site as shown on the project drawings and <br />coordinated with the Owner. It is the Contractor’s responsibility to adequately secure stored <br />materials and equipment. Install chain link fencing around the main staging and material storage <br />area. Fencing should include necessary gates. Chain link fencing installed shall be a minimum of <br />6’ tall, have movable bases and shall not be installed such that existing concrete or asphalt <br />surfaces are damaged. At isolated staging and access areas, provide 3’ tall orange snow fencing <br />surrounding the perimeter of the area.
