ORANGE COUNTY ARTS COMMISSION <br /> June 14, 2021 at 6:30 p.m. <br /> Virtual Meeting- GoToMeeting <br /> Board Members present: Fred Joiner, Chair; Delia Keefe, Secretary; <br /> Linda Williamson, Justin Haslett, Matthew Keith, Sean Bailey, <br /> Dan Mayer, Crystal Wu, Sarah Shore, Marlon Torres, Lindsay Metivier <br /> Board Members absent:Anita Hill, Brad Porter, John Bemis, Krista Bremer <br /> Staff Present: Katie Murray, Executive Director; Emilie Menzel, Assistant <br /> 1) Fred called the meeting to order at 6:31p <br /> 2) Justin moved to approve the May minutes. Matthew seconded. <br /> The minutes were approved. <br /> 3) Director's Report: <br /> a) ARP Request Update <br /> As of this date funding has been approved for: <br /> Reopening grants for cultural organizations and Art on the <br /> Hill Public Art Festival. We are still waiting to hear about <br /> other state or federal funding that might be available. <br /> b) Eno Mill Update <br /> Katie moved into the new space the last day of May. The <br /> space is still under construction but should be done by <br /> next week. We might possibly have the August meeting in <br /> person. <br /> c) Grants Update <br /> Katie hosted two training sessions for this year's grants <br /> and they were well attended. Panels will meet in July. A <br /> stipend of$200 will be given to guest panelists to acknowledge <br /> their time. Panels may or may not be held in person. <br /> Katie will assess the comfort level for participants. <br /> 4) Future of Orange County Arts Support Fund <br /> We have distributed $134,150 mostly to individual artists <br /> and some organizations. We have a need for a fund managed <br /> by the Orange County Art Alliance, a fundraising arm. It could <br /> be an emergency fund for individuals or organizations and <br /> would allow us as an organization to continue to offer support. <br /> The board voted to have Katie close the covid relief fund and <br /> investigate an artists' emergency fund. <br /> 5) Future DEI work <br /> This did not get county funding but we need to find a way to make <br />
