V. County Updates <br /> A. Ms. Tara May reported that as of March 26, 2021, she will no longer be Human Rights & <br /> Relations staff. <br /> B. She explained that she will be working forthe Board of the County Commissioners' (BOCC) <br /> office. The HRC congratulated her and wished her well. <br /> C. Ms. Annette Moore informed the HRC that the goal is to fill the position as soon as <br /> possible. She will make modifications to the job description. <br /> D. Ms. Moore informed the HRC that she plans to fill the Expediter position and better define <br /> the role and responsibilities. Oln the meantime, she is trying to get staff from the Health <br /> Department to fill the role of Expediter. <br /> E. Ms. Moore provided the HRC with data updates of the Eviction Diversion Program (EDP). <br /> She reported there had been 172 evictions diverted since the program's start. <br /> VI. Process for Future Recommendations <br /> A. Commissioner Castillo motioned to table this talking point and discuss it at the HRC <br /> retreat. Commissioner Garcia-Turner seconded the motion. All were in favor of the <br /> motion. <br /> VII. HRC Retreat <br /> A. Commissioner Castillo reported that she could not send out the doodle poll to HRC for <br /> the best date to have the retreat as she intended. She aims to send out the poll to HRC <br /> members within the next ten days. <br /> B. The retreat is projected for late April or early May 2021. <br /> Vill. HRC Events & Committee Reports <br /> A. Community Conversation <br /> 1. Commissioner Dion Graham reported that the time of the event has changed to <br /> 1 pm-2:30 pm. <br /> 2. He explained some HRC members will facilitate the participant breakout rooms. <br /> They also plan to use Mentimeter during a portion of the event and Google <br /> Jamboard in another. <br /> 3. Ms. Tara will facilitate the Zoom breakout rooms. She will arrange to have two <br /> HRC members in each room as a recorder and a group facilitator. <br /> 4. Commissioner Garcia-Turner invited HRC members to join or be available to be a <br /> group facilitator. Commissioner Ellis Driver volunteered to be a group facilitator. <br /> Commissioner Garcia-Turner will send HRC members an invite to prep for the <br /> event. <br /> 5. Commissioner David Labarre is considering abstaining from the event but will <br /> view the recording at a later date. <br /> B. Pauli Murray Awards <br /> 1. The HRC debriefed on the ceremony. Commissioner Mahaley suggested that <br /> that next year's subcommittee redefine the criteria for awardees. She <br /> acknowledges the work for the Communications Committee. Commissioner <br /> Hayley also acknowledged. Commissioner Driver for the organization that they <br /> brought to the initiative. Commissioner Mahaley also acknowledged the positive <br /> energy of the awardees. <br />
