1 <br /> ORANGE COUNTY <br /> BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> ACTION AGENDA ITEM ABSTRACT <br /> Meeting Date: October 7, 2021 <br /> Action Agenda <br /> Item No. 8 <br /> SUBJECT: Discussion on Family Success Alliance Advisory Council Commissioner Liaison <br /> Assignments <br /> DEPARTMENT: Board of Commissioners <br /> ATTACHMENT(S): INFORMATION CONTACT: <br /> None Clerk's Office, 919-245-2130 <br /> PURPOSE: To discuss the number of Commissioners' assignments on the Family Success <br /> Alliance (FSA) Advisory Council. <br /> BACKGROUND: At the March 16, 2021 Business Meeting, Commissioner Jamezetta Bedford <br /> petitioned the Board to review the number of Commissioner Liaisons to the FSA Advisory Council. <br /> It was also mentioned there are no liaisons to the Affordable Housing Advisory Board. <br /> There are two Commissioner Liaison positions on the FSA Advisory Council, currently filled by <br /> Commissioner Bedford and Commissioner Sally Greene, who will both serve until December <br /> 2021 . <br /> FINANCIAL IMPACT: There is no financial impact associated with this item. <br /> SOCIAL JUSTICE IMPACT: The following Orange County Social Justice Goal is applicable to <br /> this item: <br /> • GOAL: ENABLE FULL CIVIC PARTICIPATION <br /> Ensure that Orange County residents are able to engage government through voting and <br /> volunteering by eliminating disparities in participation and barriers to participation. <br /> ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT: There is no Orange County Environmental Responsibility Goal impact <br /> associated with this discussion. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board discuss the Commissioner <br /> Liaison assignments on the FSA Advisory Council. <br />
