BEAG Community Survey
229
108 we need county commissioners who will honor their oath of office to support and maintain the 6/8/20218:50 PM
Constitution and laws of the United States of America
109 1 prefer to have non-partisan commissioners 6/8/20218:36 PM
110 The current primary system is unfair and unrepresentative. 6/8/20217:28 PM
111 Would like to see the county better manage overall development and infrastructure so we don't 6/8/20216:08 PM
end up like parts of CA, Wash DC area, or Atlanta
112 more public candidate meetings 6/8/20214:50 PM
113 would support shift to proportional voting 6/8/20214:49 PM
114 Still a bad survey without background. You do not for example discuss a non-partisan or non 6/8/20214:37 PM
primary elections. You do not address the reason for this "group"which seems whole
undemocratic. You do not discuss why district 1 has 3 reps and district 2 has only 2. 1 see this
whole survey as shallow and out of touch.
115 This is a seriously flawed survey. It assumes respondents understand the pros and cons of 6/8/20214:29 PM
each election option. For those who already live and vote in District 1 (the majority of voters in
OC), the current voting method has been generally satisfactory. It's the northern area of the
county that is under represented due to the at-large seats. And yet, the majority of the
respondents to this survey will most likely be from District 1 and will be satisified. Without
information on how the survey will be sliced and diced, it feels like the results are assured of
approving the current set up.
116 1 prefer 5 single member districts with 2 at-large members 6/8/20214:20 PM
117 The current system is working. 6/8/20214:16 PM
118 1 arrived in June 2018 and found that you have a system that works well. No need to alter it. 6/8/20214:13 PM
6/6
