114
DISTRICT 2
Patrick Mulkey
I am interested in one of the Co-Chair positions of the BEAG.
• 1 have lived in the Bingham Township area for 36 years.
• Served on the Planning Board's Bingham Township Advisory Board (2 years as
Chairman).
• Served 2 terms on the County Parks and Recreation Advisory Board (2 years as
Chairman)
• Served many years on the Chapel Hill/Carrboro Farmers Market Board of
Directors (2 years as President)
I would also add that during my term as President of the Farmers' Market we moved into
our current location next to Carrboro Town Hall. These were challenging times for the
Market, as there were many unknowns about the new market space and we had some
farmers unwilling to move to the new location. The new location also was unlike what
you see today. There were negotiations between the Town and Market before the move
could be completed.
I look at the BEAG co-chairmanship as a challenge for both Chairs to work together in
order to have a smooth running committee that achieves its goals efficiently for all of us
on the committee and to serve the citizens of Orange County. Part of the job of any
chair is to promote the opportunity for ALL viewpoints to be expressed.
I ask for your support and your vote as District 2 Co-Chair of our Committee.
Patrick Mulkey
