These are Benefits for Domestic Partners and the Housing Wage. These also are included in <br />the report for the Board's consideration and direction, <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: As noted in the Pay and Benefits Update report, funds in the amount of <br />118 071 have become available in the approved pay and benefits budget for 2003-04. This <br />results from the funds budgeted for the health insurance increase that were not required for that <br />increase (budgeted at 20 percent and actual increase of 13,.8 percent) and a slight reduction in <br />the estimated costs for Phase 2 because of employee turnover, To move forward the Phase 2 <br />effective date from January 19, 2004 to December 8, 2003 and to move forward the Phase 3 <br />effective date from July 1, 2004 to April 26, 2004 requires a total of 115 462. <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board: <br />Discuss employee pay and benefits for 2003-04 and 2004-05 and provide direction to staff, <br />Authorize moving forward the approved effective date for Phase 2 implementation from <br />January 19, 2004 to December 8, 2003, using funds already budgeted in 2003-04, <br />Authorize implementation of Phase 3 of the Classification and Pay Study (an additional 2,5 <br />percent salary increase for employees with seven or more years total service as a <br />permanent County employee as of April 14, 2003) and establish the effective date as April <br />26, 2004, using funds already budgeted in 2003-04, <br />
