Provide a brief
description of your
pre-pandemic core
arts-related
programming or
offerings.
By propelling local artists to international notoriety and helping
regional music businesses expand, Five Head plays a key part in the
artistic ecosystem of Orange County.
We provide business services to our artists, including but not limited
to tour support and logistics, label communications and negotiation,
press coordination, marketing, and career guidance.
Prior to the pandemic, we were assisting Mandolin Orange’s spring
tour while working remotely to support our other artists.
North Carolina’s
“stay at home” order
(Executive Order
117) had a profound
impact on the arts
sector. Describe the
specific steps your
organization took to
comply with
Executive Order 117.
Each of the artists we work with cancelled or postponed all shows
March 15th onward. All company work has taken place from home, in-
person meetings have been kept to a minimum and travel has
stopped unless absolutely essential. We have travelled with Mandolin
Orange twice by car to perform two highly organized and outdoor,
socially distanced shows, but have otherwise remained at home.
Please explain the
impact of your
organization on the
Orange County
community in a
typical year.
Five Head amplifies diverse musical acts across Orange County, as
well as two major music businesses, Yep Roc Records and Redeye
Distribution. We support two artists, Mandolin Orange and Michaela
Anne, on the Yep Roc roster, fueling their business. Last year,
Mandolin Orange's record, 'Blindfaller,' became the best selling Yep
Roc record of all time. Additionally, all of the band's physical product
is distributed through Redeye, a company that supports nearly 50
employees in Orange County.
In addition to working heavily with our management clients, Five
Head regularly consults and offers gratis advice for local artists of all
genres and reach. Jimmy Rhine has been the recipient of lots of
advice from local and regional music professionals and returning the
favor is a strong priority for him and the company.
COVID-19 IMPACT
DATA
This data is for the OCAC's informational purposes only and may or
may not be applicable to your organization depending on your
structure.
Number of Staff
Eliminated March 15
- October 15
0
Number of Staff
Positions
Furloughed/Hours
Reduced March 15 -
October 15
Approximately 105 hours were cut between March 15 and April 30.
One worker was projected to be working 30-40 hours per week for the
duration of the year (not with company as of May 1). From May 1 to
October 15, that would have totaled 705 hours.
DocuSign Envelope ID: 324D941F-2C55-4E24-BAAA-FF3B9689CD67
