W hat is the mission <br />of your organization? <br />Mission Statement: <br />To adv ance the well-being and mental health of div erse North <br />Carolinians through accessible, strengths-based, culturally <br />responsiv e art therapy; to further support our communities through <br />local ev ents and professional dev elopment opportunities; to <br />contribute to and uphold research, theory, and practice of the <br />creativ e arts therapies. <br />Vision Statement: <br />Effectiv e, accessible, and culturally-responsiv e arts-based mental <br />health care for all who desire it. <br />Key Beliefs/Core Values: <br />Continuous Quality Improv ement – ATI’s ongoing effort to improv e <br />serv ices and internal practices is based on an understanding of <br />quality, clear measurements of effectiv eness and systematic efforts <br />to learn from experience. <br />Respect – ATI respects each indiv idual by treating ev eryone with <br />compassion, care and courtesy. <br />Maximize Indiv idual, Familial, and Community Potential – ATI works <br />with clients, families, and communities to help them reach goals. ATI <br />recognizes that the processes of learning and dev elopment can be <br />messy. ATI clinicians are prepared to work within this mess, activ ely <br />participating in, and creating within complex situations. <br />Supportiv e Env ironment – ATI supports an env ironment where <br />people can share ideas and information freely to foster creativ ity, <br />communication, and collaboration. <br />Integrity – ATI acts with integrity, treating people consistently, <br />honestly, and equitably to help them achiev e their goals. <br />Provide a brief <br />description of your <br />pre-pandemic core <br />arts-related <br />programming or <br />offerings. <br />The Art Therapy Institute (ATI) prov ides art therapy serv ices to <br />approximately 650 children and adults each year in the Triangle and <br />Triad areas of NC. ATI’s two largest programs – The Exceptional <br />Children’s Program and the Newcomers Art Therapy Program – take <br />place within public school systems. <br />During the school year, ATI clinicians prov ide art therapy serv ices to <br />more than 100 children (K-12) with intellectual and dev elopmental <br />disabilities in Orange County. Through group therapy, EC children <br />dev elop creativ e expression, interact with peers and learn social <br />skills, and gain a sense of mastery through the creativ e process. ATI <br />also prov ides weekly art therapy serv ices to adults liv ing with <br />intellectual and dev elopmental disabilities through NC Start located in <br />Durham, NC. ATI clinicians use art-making to help these clients <br />identify and accept their emotions; increase their ability to <br />communicate in a group atmosphere; and dev elop a sense of <br />assurance that positiv ely impacts their educational and v ocational <br />pursuits. <br />DocuSign Envelope ID: 3B7987D4-AE68-4972-853F-8188A0E8440B
