Through various offerings, we will encourage a deeper <br /> understanding and appreciation of our global citizenry, as well as, <br /> promote a belief that the cultural arts are important to the well-being <br /> and ongoing commitment to inclusivity of our community. <br /> Project Date (no later March 2021 <br /> than June 30, 2021) <br /> Project Goals Our goal is to provide cultural enrichment to every grade level at <br /> HES, kindergarten through the fifth grade. By making cultural <br /> enrichment a priority at HES, the students each year, have been <br /> exposed to a different program through their elementary school <br /> career. This yearly reinforcement shows the students that <br /> understanding the differences amongst us all is an ongoing <br /> education. <br /> Cirruculum and Through our program, students will engage with the history and <br /> Enrichment customs of the world's people and cultivate a richer knowledge of <br /> themselves and others. The Hillsborough Elementary School Cultural <br /> Arts Program also supports the school's overall mission of <br /> "Ensuring Student Success by Inspiring Hearts and Minds" by <br /> enriching students' educational experiences and encouraging <br /> connections between the arts and academics. <br /> Audience Description Hillsborough Elementary serves Orange County students in grades <br /> K-5. Our school population consists of a diverse student body from <br /> varying socio-economic, racial, ethnic, and religious backgrounds. <br /> Currently, our population is approximately 77%white, 11% Black, 3% <br /> Hispanic, 2%Asian, <1% Pacific Islander, <1% Native American, and <br /> 7% identifying as more than one race. 47%of the student population <br /> identifies as female, while 53% identify as male. 14%of students are <br /> from low-income families. <br />
