Construction Documents <br />20033 <br />Orange County Europa Center <br />26 0101 - 4 ELECTRICAL GENERAL <br />PROVISIONS <br />C.Breaker Panels: The new breakers shall have the AIC not less than panel rating. Breakers shall <br />be third party tested before installation. <br />D.Fasteners: Fasteners for supports and hangers shall be made from approved devices. <br />Fasteners for supports to concrete shall be made with one piece malleable iron or wrought steel <br />inserts and keyhole slots for attachment to forms with self drilling expansion shield with <br />approved threads or expansion plugs. <br />E.Identification: Furnish and install engraved laminated phenolic nameplates for all safety <br />switches, panelboards, transformers, switchboards, motor control centers and other electrical <br />equipment supplied for the project for identification. Nameplates shall be securely attached to <br />equipment with self-tapping stainless steel screws; if the screw sharp end is protected; <br />otherwise Rivets shall be used. Letters shall be approximately 1/2 inch high minimum. <br />Embossed, self-adhesive plastic tape is not acceptable for marking equipment. Nameplate <br />material colors shall match existing facility standard. <br />2.05 RECEPTACLES <br />A.Receptacles shall be industrial heavy-duty grade and of the following manufacturers: Hubbell, <br />Leviton, or Pass & Seymour. All exterior receptacles shall be installed with a hinged outlet <br />cover/enclosure clearly marked “Suitable for Wet Locations While In Use” and “UL Listed”. <br />There shall be a gasket between the enclosure and the mounting surface, and between the <br />hinged cover and mounting plate/base to assure proper seal. All covers shall be Extra Duty <br />rated. <br />2.06 EQUIPMENT LISTINGS <br />A.All materials and equipment shall be third party listed by an agency accredited by the NCBCC <br />and NC Department of Insurance (NC DOI). The list of accredited agencies may be obtained on <br />NCDOI's web site. <br />PART 3 EXECUTION <br />3.01 INSPECTION <br />A.If any part of this Contractor's work is dependent for its proper execution or for its subsequent <br />efficiency or appearance on the character or conditions of contiguous work not executed by him, <br />the Contractor shall examine and measure such contiguous work and report to the Architect or <br />Engineer in writing any imperfection therein, or conditions that render it unsuitable for the <br />reception of this work. Should the Contractor proceed without making such written report, he <br />shall be held to have accepted such work and the existing conditions and he shall be <br />responsible for any defects in this work consequent hereon and will not be relieved of the <br />obligation of any guarantee because of any such imperfection or condition. <br />B.Completion of Contract: Systems shall be complete, tested in the presence of the owner’s <br />representative and/or engineer and/or manufacturer’s representative and ready for use with all <br />equipment operating satisfactorily. Submit to the owner the final electrical inspection certificate <br />and the other guarantees ensuring the work meets all requirements and regulations of the <br />authorities and complies with the drawings and specifications. <br />C.After the designer pre-final inspection and confirmation that the final punch list items have been <br />completed. The contractor shall schedule a final electrical inspection with the SCO office. <br />Inspections shall be Monday through Friday unless specifically coordinated with the SCO office. <br />D.Is the responsibility of the electrical contractor to notify the Office of the Local Electrical <br />Inspector, and schedule required inspections including rough-in, above ceiling and final <br />inspections. A “certificate of approval” shall be obtained from the Local Electrical Inspector after <br />project final inspection approval. <br />3.02 INSTALLATION <br />A.All work shall be performed in a manner indicating proficiency in the trade. <br />B.All conduit, pipes, ducts, etc., shall be either parallel to building walls or plumb where installed in <br />a vertical position and shall be concealed when located in architecturally finished areas. <br />DocuSign Envelope ID: ECCAC5A0-6CC8-4B37-8AD3-89D69F0AE1AE
