Construction Documents <br />20033 <br />Orange County Europa Center <br />26 0101 - 2 ELECTRICAL GENERAL <br />PROVISIONS <br />1.04 PRODUCT DELIVERY, STORAGE AND HANDLING <br />A.All material and equipment shall be delivered and unloaded by the Contractor within the project <br />site as noted herein or as directed by the Owner. <br />B.The Contractor shall protect all material and equipment from breakage, theft or weather <br />damage. No material or equipment shall be stored on the ground. <br />C.The material and equipment shall remain the property of the Contractor until the project has <br />been completed and turned over to the Owner. <br />D.Where equipment cannot be stored at the site due to exposure to the elements or lack of <br />storage space , the contractor shall store all equipment in a bonded warehouse until the time of <br />installation. <br />1.05 WORK CONDITIONS AND COORDINATION <br />A.The Contractor shall review the entire set of plans to establish points of connection and the <br />extent of electrical work to be provided in his Contract. <br />B.The contractor is responsible for reviewing the complete set of contract documents. Coordinate <br />all phasing requirements with architectural drawings. Coordinate equipment locations and utility <br />routing with all trades to ensure code compliance and constructibility. <br />C.This Contractor shall be responsible for all electrical work and make final connections to <br />equipment installed in his Contract. It shall be the contractor’s responsibility to protect his work <br />at all times, and all damages resulting from his operations shall be repaired, or damaged <br />portions replaced to the satisfaction of the engineer. All costs shall be borne by the contractor. <br />D.Pipe, conduit and duct chases required for installation of work shall be provided by the General <br />Contractor unless otherwise noted. This Contractor shall be responsible for coordinating the <br />location of all required chases. <br />E.All work shall be coordinated with other trades. Cutting of new work and subsequent patching <br />shall be approved by Architect/ Engineer and shall be at the Contractor's expense with no extra <br />cost to the Owner. <br />F.Carry out all necessary work to ensure the proper coordination of protective devices throughout <br />the electrical system. Wiring and connections shall be tested for continuity, grounds, and short <br />circuits before any equipment or fixtures are energized. Ensure the correct voltage at all point in <br />the system before and after energizing the connected loads. <br />1.06 GUARANTEE <br />A.Contractor shall unconditionally guarantee his work and all components from a period of one <br />year from the date of final acceptance. He shall remedy without delay any defects in <br />workmanship; repair or replace any faulty equipment which shall arise within the guarantee <br />period to the complete satisfaction of the owner at no additional charge. During the warranty <br />period, the contactor shall provide service, parts, and labor to repair or replace defective parts, <br />modify and adjust equipment controls for the most efficient operation. <br />B.Where extended warranties or guarantees are available from the manufacturer, the Contractor <br />shall prepare the necessary Contract Documents to validate these warranties as required by the <br />manufacturer and present them to the Architect/Engineer. <br />PART 2 PRODUCTS <br />2.01 MATERIAL QUALITY <br />A.Material and equipment shall be new, unless noted otherwise, of the highest grade and quality <br />and free from defects or other imperfections. Material and equipment found defective shall be <br />removed and replaced at the Contractor's expense. <br />2.02 CONDUCTORS <br />A.All conductors shall be copper. Aluminum conductors are not acceptable unless specifically <br />noted on plans. Minimum conductor size shall be #12 AWG. Conductors #10 AWG and smaller <br />must be solid.
