Construction Documents <br />20033 <br />Orange County Europa Center <br />22 1119 - 1 PIPING SPECIALTIES (DOMESTIC <br />SUPPLY AND SANITARY) <br />SECTION 22 1119 <br />PIPING SPECIALTIES (DOMESTIC SUPPLY AND SANITARY) <br />GENERAL <br />1.01 THIS SECTION INCLUDES MISCELLANEOUS ITEMS REQUIRED FOR A COMPLETE <br />PLUMBING SYSTEM. <br />1.02 PRODUCT <br />A.Escutcheons shall be chrome plated, one piece friction fit, on all pipes passing through walls <br />and ceilings in finished areas. Floor escutcheons shall be cast brass, chrome plated, with set <br />screw. <br />B.Stops shall be sweat inlet, compression outlet type, quarter turn, chrome plated, angle or <br />straight way pattern on all fixtures, hot and cold water supply. In public areas, provide loose <br />key, in private areas, including single occupancy toilet rooms, loose key style is not required. <br />On service sinks and mop receptors, use bronze ball valve as specified and provide check <br />valves on hot and cold water supplies. <br />C.Supply tubes shall be chrome plated, soft copper tubing. Ends of supply tubes shall be <br />compatible with stops and connection to fixture served. Offsets in tubing shall be made with an <br />appropriately sized copper tubing bending tool. <br />D.Provide chrome plated, crumb cup strainers for sinks and chrome plated, perforated strainers <br />for lavatories. <br />E.Provide chrome plated, 17 gauge, offset tailpiece and molded PVC insulating kit on traps and <br />supplies for all accessible sinks and lavatories. <br />F.P-traps shall be a minimum of fixture outlet drain size, 17 gauge, chrome plated with union joint <br />or integral cleanout. Tubular waste piping and tailpieces shall be 17 gauge, chrome plated, <br />sized equal to fixture outlet drain. <br />G.Provide appropriate carriers for all wall hung fixtures as needed to fit all specific documented <br />installation requirements. Wall brackets shall not be used without prior approval from Engineer. <br />H.Flashing for vents through the roof shall be two-piece type, 16 ounce copper counter flashing <br />and base flashing, or a two-piece type, 4 pound lead counter flashing and base flashing. The <br />base flashing shall be installed by the General Contractor with the roof system. <br />I.Pipe anchors for rough-in use shall be "Ruff-in" by B-Line Systems, Inc., or equal by Hold Rite” <br />as manufactured by Hubbard Enterprises or Insul-Speed. Use for anchoring rough-in of all hot <br />and cold water connections for all lavatories, sinks and other wall connected fixtures. <br />J.Dielectric waterway fittings shall have electroplated steel or brass nipple with an inert and <br />non-corrosive thermoplastic lining. <br />K.Water hammer arrestors shall be of all stainless steel construction and in conformance with P. <br />D. I. Standard WH201 by Zurn, J. R. Smith, or Wade. Water hammer arrestors shall be <br />installed as noted at the locations shown on the plans and shall be totally accessible. <br />L.Unions shall be bronze body with packless brass ground joints. Wrought iron pipe unions shall <br />be malleable iron, ground joint with bronze to iron seat. <br />1.03 EXECUTION <br />A.Escutcheons shall be of sufficient size to cover outside diameter of the pipe or the insulation of <br />the pipe. <br />B.Vent flashing shall extend down at least 4 inches from the top of the pipe. Flashing shall extend <br />at least 12 inches in all directions from the pipe and shall be parallel to the roof line. <br />C.Pipe anchors for rough-in use shall be installed to hold pipes securely in alignment, according to <br />the manufacturer's rough-in dimensions.
