D.All patching shall be done in such a manner as to restore the areas or surfaces to match <br />existing finishes. <br />E.The Contractor shall lay out and install his work in advance of pouring concrete floors or walls. <br />He shall furnish all sleeves to the General Contractor for openings through poured masonry <br />floors or walls, above grade, required for passage of all conduits, pipes, or ducts required to <br />support his equipment. <br />F.All fixtures shall be accurately roughed in according to the manufacturer's installation <br />dimensions so that no offset adapters, flexible connections or other improvisations are <br />necessary. All incorrect work shall be torn out and corrected and walls and floors patched. <br />G.Horizontal drainage and waste pipe shall have a minimum slope or fall of 1/8 inch per foot. All <br />change of horizontal directions in soil waste pipe shall be made with long radius fittings with "Y" <br />branches and 1/8 or 1/16 bends. <br />H.All fixtures, floor drains, flush valves and traps shall be set plumb and level. <br />I.Connections to cold water, soil and waste lines shall be made at locations shown on the <br />Drawings. <br />J.All material and equipment shall be installed following the manufacturer’s installation directions. <br />K.Spray-on Fireproofing overspray shall be removed from all materials provided as part of the <br />plumbing contract. <br />3.03 PERFORMANCE <br />A.The Contractor shall perform all excavation and backfill operations necessary for installation of <br />his work. <br />B.Rock excavation shall be defined in the Supplementary General Conditions, Division 1 or <br />Division 2. A unit price for each rock excavation shall be required in the bid. Plumbing <br />Contractor shall provide the unit price per cubic yard for rock excavation. Construction Manager <br />will establish an allowance for trench rock. <br />3.04 ERECTION <br />A.All support steel, angles, channels, pipes or structural steel stands and anchoring devices that <br />may be required to rigidly support or anchor material and equipment shall be provided by this <br />Contractor. <br />3.05 FIELD QUALITY CONTROL <br />A.The Contractor shall conform to the requirements of Division 03 for concrete testing. <br />B.All testing required for compliance with the contract shall be as stated in subsequent sections. <br />3.06 ADJUST AND CLEAN <br />A.All equipment and installed materials shall be thoroughly clean and free of all dirt, oil, grit, <br />grease, etc. <br />B.Factory painted equipment shall not be repainted unless damaged areas exist. These areas <br />shall be touched up with a material suitable for intended service. In no event shall nameplates <br />be painted. <br />C.At a scheduled meeting, the Contractor shall instruct the Owner or the Owner's representative in <br />the operation and maintenance of all equipment installed under his Contract. <br />3.07 MAINTENANCE AND OPERATING MANUAL <br />A.The Contractor shall prepare an electronic submission of a manual describing the proper <br />maintenance and system operation. This manual shall not consist of standard factory printed <br />data intended for dimension or design purposes (although these may be included), but shall be <br />prepared to describe this particular job.
