Construction Documents <br />20033 <br />Orange County Europa Center <br />22 0100 - 1 PLUMBING GENERAL PROVISIONS <br />SECTION 22 0100 <br />PLUMBING GENERAL PROVISIONS <br />PART 1 GENERAL <br />1.01 SCOPE OF WORK <br />A.The Contractor shall provide all materials, equipment and labor necessary to install and set into <br />operation a complete plumbing system as shown on the engineering drawings and as specified <br />herein. <br />1.02 QUALITY ASSURANCE <br />A.See the General and Supplementary General Conditions. <br />B.All work shall be in accordance with State Code and Underwriter's Regulations. Minimum <br />requirements shall be the State Plumbing Code. <br />C.Wherever the words "Approved", "Approval", or "Approved Equal" appear, it is intended that <br />items other than the model numbers specified shall be subject to the approval of the Engineer. <br />D."Provide" as used herein shall mean that the Contractor responsible shall furnish and install said <br />item or equipment. "Furnish" as used herein shall mean that the Contractor responsible shall <br />acquire and make available said item or equipment and that installation shall be by others. <br />"Install" as used herein shall mean that the Contractor responsible shall make installation of <br />items or equipment furnished by others. <br />E.Boiler Inspection Certificate (If applicable): It shall be the responsibility of the Contractor to <br />complete the installation of fired or unfired pressure vessels and their safety devices in <br />accordance with the requirements of the latest edition of the North Carolina Department of <br />Labor, "Boiler Inspection Law, Rules and Regulations". The Contractor shall be responsible for <br />notifying the Bureau of Boiler Inspection in writing at least two weeks prior to the date of <br />completion of all equipment requiring inspection. Certificates furnished by the Bureau of Boiler <br />Inspection shall be in a frame having a removable glass cover and posted near the pressure <br />vessel. Certificates shall be installed before requesting final inspection of the completed <br />project. The pressure vessel is NOT to be operated before it is inspected and approved. <br />1.03 SUBSTITUTIONS <br />A.Products are specified for use on this project by the following: <br />1.Reference Standards and Description: Any products meeting the Reference Standards <br />and Description will be acceptable (i.e., waste and vent pipe and fittings). <br />2.Naming of a product as an example to denote the quality standard of the product desired, <br />in which case three or more brands will be denoted (where applicable) to establish <br />equivalent designs. <br />3.Naming of a product does not restrict Bidders to a specific brand (i.e., fixtures, valves, <br />etc.). <br />4.Requests for approval of manufacturers or substitutions that have not been pre-approved <br />shall be made by using the forms at the end of this section. <br />B.During bidding period: Submitted written requests from Bidders Only, using the forms herein, <br />will be considered if received ten (10) calendar days prior to the date of receipt of bids to allow <br />for proper evaluation. Requests from suppliers and subcontractors will not be considered. <br />1.Substitutions will be considered when a product becomes unavailable through no fault of <br />the Contractor. A request constitutes a representation that the Bidder/Contractor: <br />2.Has investigated proposed product and determined that it meets or exceeds the quality <br />level of the specified product and is suitable for use in the Work. <br />3.Will provide the same warranty for the substitution as for the specified product. <br />4.Will coordinate installation and make changes to other work that may be required for the <br />work to be complete with no additional cost to the Owner. <br />5.Waives claims for additional cost or time extension that may subsequently become <br />apparent. <br />DocuSign Envelope ID: ECCAC5A0-6CC8-4B37-8AD3-89D69F0AE1AE
