Chain bolts shall be 3" long, shall have a 18" pull and an angle strike to secure inactive <br />door on cabinets over 72" in height. Elbow catches shall be used on inactive doors up to <br />and including 72" in height. <br />7. Undercounter Support Frame: Welded steel countertop support frames shall be provided at all <br />kneespaces where indicated on drawings. Frames shall be available in 3" increments to clear span <br />24" to 60" width. Frames shall readily accept pencil kneespace drawers, and shall be designed to <br />interface undercounter support brackets. Available in dove grey, frosty white or light beige to <br />match basic cabinet body color or in contrasting slate grey or black color. <br />2.4 FABRICATION <br />A. Fabrication: Fabricate casework to dimensions, profiles, and details shown. <br />B. Cabinet Body Construction: Tops and bottoms shall be joined to cabinet ends and internal cabinet <br />components such as fixed horizontals, rails and verticals shall be joined using 10mm diameter industrial <br />grade hardwood dowels, laterally fluted with chamfered ends, securely glued and clamped under pressure <br />during assembly to secure joints and cabinet squareness. Use minimum of six (6) dowels at each joint for <br />24" deep cabinets and minimum of four (4) dowels at each joint for 12" deep cabinets. <br />1. Unless specifically indicated, core shall be 3/4" thick particleboard. Edging and surface finishes <br />as indicated herein. <br />2. Unit backs shall be 1/4" thick prefinished hardboard, color matched to cabinet interior. Exposed <br />back on fixed or movable cabinets to be 3/4" particleboard, color matched to cabinet interior, <br />exterior surface GP-28 laminate as selected. <br />3. All fixed undercounter and tall units shall have an integral base created by extending end panels to <br />floor and factory applied blocking between sides. Provide 96mm (nominal 4") high toe base <br />unless otherwise indicated on the drawings. <br />4. All end panels and vertical dividers, except sink base units, shall be prepared to receive adjustable <br />shelf hardware at 32mm (approximately 1-1/4") centers. Door hinges, drawer slides and pull-out <br />shelves shall mount on line boring to maintain vertical alignment of components and provide for <br />future relocation of doors, drawers, shelves and/or pull-out shelves. <br />5. All exposed and semi-exposed edges of basic cabinet components shall be factory edged with <br />PVC banding, machine applied with waterproof hot melt adhesive. <br />a. Edging shall be 3mm PVC available in approximately 120 match edge colors to match <br />door/drawer front edging color. <br />6. Adjustable shelf core shall be 3/4" thick particleboard up to 30" wide, 1" thick particleboard over <br />30" wide. <br />a. Front edge shall have factory applied 3mm PVC, color to match shelf color. <br />C. Interior Finish, Units with Open Interiors: Sides, top, bottom, horizontal, and vertical members, and <br />adjustable shelving shall be faced with high pressure decorative laminate GP-28 (.028) color from <br />casework manufacturer’s full range offering of at least 120 colors. <br />D. Exposed Ends: Shall be faced with high pressure decorative laminate GP-28 (.028) color from casework <br />manufacturer’s full range offering of at least 120 colors. <br />E. Wall Unit Bottom: Shall be faced with plastic laminate to match basic cabinet body color. <br />F. Wall and Tall Unit Tops: The top edge of all wall and tall unit end panels shall be factory edged with <br />1mm PVC to match basic cabinet body color; raw edges at top of wall and tall end panels will not be <br />permitted. <br />1. Top surface will be laminated with melamine in dove grey, frosty white or light beige to match <br />basic cabinet body color. <br />2. Balanced construction of all laminated panels is mandatory. Unfinished core stock, even or <br />concealed surfaces, will not be permitted. No exceptions. <br />G. Drawers: Sides, back and sub front shall be particleboard ½" thick, laminated with melamine in dove <br />grey, frosty white or light beige to match basic cabinet body color. The back and sub front are doweled <br />and glued into the sides.
