Laminate Color Selection: <br />1. Basic cabinet body color: <br />a. To include surfaces of all interior components, including drawer boxes, to be covered with <br />melamine laminate as a minimum requirement; drawer boxes not matching basic color will <br />be rejected. <br />b. Melamine laminate shall be available in manufacturer’s complete color range including <br />custom colors. <br />c. Colors for other cabinet surfaces, grade GP28, shall be selected from the current year <br />Wilsonart, Nevamar and Formica Selections. Minimum of 120 color selections available. <br />Selections can be made from any of the listed companies in any combination. <br />2. Countertop color: <br />a. Colors for countertop grades, GP50 and PF42, shall be selected from the current year <br />Wilsonart, Nevamar and Formica. Minimum of 120 color selections available. Selections <br />can be made from any of the listed companies in any combination. <br />3. Edging Materials/Colors: <br />a. 3 mm PVC banding, machine applied with waterproof hot melt adhesive with external <br />edges and outside corners of door and drawer fronts, and countertops, machine profiled to <br />1/8" radius for safety. <br />b. PVC banding shall be available to match all laminate selections. All selections color <br />matched to match PVC banding sample numbers from complete range of Woodtape <br />manufacturer listed on the drawings laminates of the same name. <br />c. Barbed T-edging or laminate self-edge on cabinet components will not be acceptable. <br />D. Specialty Items: <br />1. Metal Parts: Countertop support brackets, undercounter support frames, legs and miscellaneous <br />metal parts shall be furniture steel, welded, degreased, cleaned, treated and epoxy powder painted <br />in dove grey, frosty white or light beige to match basic cabinet body color, or in a contrasting slate <br />grey or black color. <br />E. Cabinet Hardware: <br />1. Manufacturers provided for type and quality- Approved equals are Stanley, Blum or Haefle. <br />2. Hinges: Shall be five knuckle, institutional grade, 2 3/4" overlay type with hospital tip. Steel <br />shall be minimum .095" thick and have minimum of eight (8) edge and leaf fastenings. Hinges <br />shall pass ANSI-BHMA standard A156.9, Grade 1 requirement for both vertical and horizontal set <br />and sag (pair of hinges will hold minimum of 310#); copy of test result shall be provided upon <br />request. Casework manufacturer shall use specifically engineered screws for attachment of <br />hinges; wood screws shall not be permitted. Doors 48" and over in height shall have three (3) <br />hinges per door. Available in epoxy finish, color to be dove grey, frosty white or light beige to <br />match basic cabinet body color, or in contrasting black, slate grey, dawn, wildrose, clear teal, <br />hollyberry, larkspur or brushed chrome. Provide magnetic door catch with minimum seven (7) <br />pound pull, attached with screws and slotted for adjustment. <br />3. Pulls: Door and drawer front pull shall be Hafele 102.22.600 stainless steel pull. <br />4. Drawer Slides: Shall be Blum style No. BS230M with epoxy finish. Slides will have a 100 pound <br />load rating at full extension and a built-in positive stop both directions, with self closing feature. <br />Slides shall have a lift time warranty as offered by the slide manufacturer. <br />5. Adjustable Shelf Supports: Shall be injection molded polycarbonate, clear color to blend with <br />selected interior finish, friction fit into cabinet end panels and vertical dividers, readily adjustable <br />on 32mm (approximately 1-1/4") centers. Each shelf support shall have two (2) integral support <br />pins, 5mm diameter, to interface pre-drilled holes, and to prevent accidental rotation of support. <br />The supports shall be automatically adaptable to 3/4" or 1" thick shelving and shall provide non- <br />tip feature for shelving. Supports are designed to readily permit field fixing of shelf if desired. <br />Structural load testing shall show loading to 1,500 pounds (375 pounds per support) without <br />failure. <br />6. Locks: For doors and drawers as shown on drawings shall be National Lock #M4-7054C, <br />removable core, disc tumbler, cam style lock with strike. Each lock shall be furnished with two <br />(2) keys. Locks for sliding 3/4" doors shall be a disc type plunger lock, sliding door type with <br />strike.
