DSS Skills Development Center Smith Sinnett / 2020045 <br />Chapel Hill, North Carolina Orange County <br /> <br />MANUFACTURED PLASTIC LAMINATE CLAD CASEWORK 12 32 16 - 1 <br />SECTION 12 32 16 - MANUFACTURED PLASTIC LAMINATE CLAD CASEWORK <br />PART 1 - GENERAL <br />1.1 RELATED DOCUMENTS <br />A. Drawings and general provisions of the Contract, including General and Supplementary Conditions and <br />Division 01 Specification Sections, apply to this Section. <br />1.2 SUMMARY <br />A. Section Includes: <br />1. The extent of manufactured casework systems as shown on drawings, schedules, and specified <br />herein. Where specific materials, finishes, construction details, and hardware are specified herein, <br />the casework contractor shall be held in strict accordance. All items shall be as provided, and <br />publicly cataloged, by one manufacturer to assure physical and dimensional integrity of the system <br />and ready access to additional systems components for a minimum of ten (10) years after <br />completion of this contract. Products from companies not meeting this requirement will not be <br />accepted. <br />2. The work includes the fabrication and installation of built-in laminate clad casework, countertops, <br />and related items specified herein. <br />B. Related Sections: <br />1. Sinks and service fixtures, service and waste lines and all connections, vents, electrical service <br />fixtures, hoods and ducting within or adjacent to casework, or otherwise required: Furnished and <br />installed under Mechanical and Electrical Divisions 23 and 26. <br />2. Division 06 Section “Rough Carpentry” for blocking within walls where indicated. <br />3. Division 22 Plumbing for additional information related to sink requirements in casework. <br />1.3 SYSTEM DESCRIPTION <br />A. All manufactured casework shall be pre-engineered, and cataloged, to rigid modular-matrix sizing <br />allowing for future interchange of components, or entire units. Manufacturers submitting for approval <br />must provide printed catalog information documenting this performance feature; no exceptions will be <br />allowed. Refer to “Laminate Casework Features” following this section which includes additional <br />requirements of this work. <br />1.4 PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS <br />A. General Performance: Laminate Clad Casework shall be without failure due to defective manufacture, <br />fabrication, installation, or other defects in construction. <br />1.5 SUBMITTALS <br />A. Product Data: For each type of product indicated. Include construction details, material descriptions, <br />dimensions of individual components and profiles, and finishes. In addition to the general conditions as <br />relates to prior approvals, submittals of manufacturer’s data, installation instructions, and samples are <br />required upon architect’s request. <br />B.
