Preinstallation Conference: Conduct conference at Project site to comply with requirements in <br />Division 01 Section "Project Management and Coordination." <br />I. Preinstallation Conference: Conduct conference at Project site to comply with requirements in <br />Division 01 Section "Project Management and Coordination." Review methods and procedures related to <br />carpet installation including, but not limited to, the following: <br />1. Review delivery, storage, and handling procedures. <br />2. Review ambient conditions and ventilation procedures. <br />1.5 DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING <br />A. Comply with CRI 104, Section 5, "Storage and Handling." <br />B. Delivery, Storage, and Handling: Deliver materials to project site in original factory wrappings and <br />containers, clearly labeled with identification of manufacturer, brand name, quality or grade, fire hazard <br />classification, and lot number. Store materials in original undamaged packages and containers, inside <br />well-ventilated area protected from weather, moisture, soiling, extreme temperatures, humidity; laid flat, <br />blocked off ground to prevent sagging and warping. Maintain temperature in storage area above 40 <br />degrees Fahrenheit. <br />C. Comply with instructions and recommendations of manufacturer for special delivery, storage, and <br />handling requirements. <br />D. Sequencing and Scheduling: Sequence carpet installation with other work to minimize possibility of <br />damage and soiling during remainder of construction period. <br />1.6 PROJECT CONDITIONS <br />A. Comply with CRI 104, Section 7.2, "Site Conditions; Temperature and Humidity" and Section 7.12, <br />"Ventilation." <br />B. Environmental Limitations: Do not install carpet and carpet cushion until wet work in spaces is complete <br />and dry, and ambient temperature and humidity conditions are maintained at the levels indicated for <br />Project when occupied for its intended use. <br />C. Do not install carpet and carpet cushion over concrete slabs until slabs have cured, are sufficiently dry to <br />bond with adhesive, and have pH range recommended by carpet manufacturer. <br />D. Where demountable partitions or other items are indicated for installation on top of carpet, install carpet <br />before installing these items. <br />1.7 WARRANTY <br />A. Special Warranty for Carpet: Manufacturer's standard form in which manufacturer agrees to repair or <br />replace components of carpet installation that fail in materials or workmanship within specified warranty <br />period. <br />1. Warranty does not include deterioration or failure of carpet due to unusual traffic, failure of <br />substrate, vandalism, or abuse. <br />2.
