Exposed Edge, Transition, and other Accessory Stripping: 12-inch- long Samples. <br />3. Carpet Cushion: 6-inch- square Sample. <br />4. Carpet Seam: 6-inch Sample. <br />5. Mitered Carpet Border Seam: 12-inch- square Sample. Show carpet pattern alignment. <br />D. Product Schedule: For carpet and carpet cushion. Use same designations indicated on Drawings. <br />E. Qualification Data: For Installer. <br />F. Product Test Reports: Based on evaluation of comprehensive tests performed by a qualified testing <br />agency. Submit certified test reports evidencing compliance with requirements for the following: <br />1. Fire performance characteristics. <br />2. Physical properties indicated. <br />G. Maintenance Data: For carpet to include in maintenance manuals. Include the following: <br />1. Methods for maintaining carpet, including cleaning and stain-removal products and procedures <br />and manufacturer's recommended maintenance schedule. <br />2. Precautions for cleaning materials and methods that could be detrimental to carpet and carpet <br />cushion. <br />H. Warranties: Special warranties specified in this Section. <br />1.4 QUALITY ASSURANCE <br />A. Installer Qualifications: An experienced installer who is certified by the Floor Covering Installation <br />Board not less than 2 years or who can demonstrate compliance with its certification program <br />requirements. <br />B. Manufacturer Qualifications: Firm (material producer) with not less than 3 years of production <br />experience, whose published literature clearly indicates general compliance of products with <br />requirements of this section. <br />C. Single Source Responsibility: Provide material produced by a single manufacturer for each carpet type. <br />D. Fire-Test-Response Characteristics: Provide products with the critical radiant flux classification indicated <br />in Part 2, as determined by testing identical products per ASTM E 648 by an independent testing and <br />inspecting agency acceptable to authorities having jurisdiction. <br />E. Certification: Submit manufacturer's certificate stating that materials furnished comply with specified <br />requirements. Include supporting certified laboratory testing data indicating that material meets specified <br />test requirements. <br />F. Static Control System: All carpet shall be manufactured with a static control system which reduces static <br />generation below generally accepted sensitivity threshold of 3.5 kilovolts tested 20% relative humidity at <br />70% relative humidity by the “Shuffle“ test. <br />G. Mockups: Before installing carpet, build mockups to verify selections made under sample submittals and <br />to demonstrate aesthetic effects and set quality standards for materials and execution. <br />1.
