Drawings and general provisions of the Contract, including General and Supplementary General <br />Conditions and Division 01 Specification sections, apply to work of this section. <br />1.2 SUMMARY <br />A. This Section includes joint sealants for the following locations: <br />B. Interior joints in vertical surfaces and horizontal nontraffic surfaces as indicated below: <br />1. Control and expansion joints on exposed interior surfaces of exterior walls. <br />2. Perimeter joints of exterior openings. <br />3. Vertical control joints on exposed surfaces of interior unit masonry walls and partitions. <br />4. Perimeter joints between interior wall surfaces and frames of interior doors and windows. <br />5. Tile control and expansion joints. <br />6. Perimeter joints of toilet fixtures. <br />7. Joints between dissimilar materials. <br />8. Other joints as indicated. <br />C. Interior joints in horizontal traffic surfaces as indicated below: <br />1. Control and expansion joints in cast-in-place concrete slabs. <br />2. Control and expansion joints in stone flooring <br />3. Other joints as indicated. <br />4. Between all dissimilar materials unless otherwise shown. <br />D. Fire-rated joints in vertical and horizontal non-traffic surfaces. <br />E. Sealants for glazing purposes are specified in Division 08 Section "Framed Entrances and Storefront." <br />1.3 RELATED SECTIONS <br />A. The following Sections contain requirements that relate to this Section: <br />1. Division 07 Section "Sheet Metal Flashing and Trim" for sealing joints related to flashing and <br />sheet metal for roofing. <br />2. Division 08 Section "Glazing" for sealants used in glazing. <br />1.4 SYSTEM PERFORMANCES <br />A. Provide joint sealants that have been produced and installed to establish and maintain watertight and <br />airtight continuous seals. <br />1.5 SUBMITTALS <br />A. Product Data: From manufacturers for each joint sealer product required, including instructions for joint <br />preparation and joint sealer application. <br />B. Samples: For verification purposes of each type and color of joint sealer required.
