The agreement antidpales that tM1e Greene Tract owners will <br />reach agreement on the tlisposition of the property during a bargaining period the[ woultl <br />conclutle on April 1l, 2002 (Yhe Iwo year anniversary of the efkctlve tlate upon which Orange <br />County assumed overall responsibility for solitl waste management in Omnge County). <br />In May 2001, the BOCG appointetl Commissioners Brown antl Carey to serve on a Greene <br />Tract work group with two elected officials each from the governing boaMS of Canbom (Jacquie <br />Giet antl Alex Zaffron)antl Chapel Hill (Kevin FOy and Bill Strom. Following two meetings in <br />October 2001, [he group spcnspretl a public foram on November 15 to hear tliscueeion among <br />members of the wmmunity repaking [heir views of how the Greene Tract propery shoultl be <br />used.
