Volunteer <br />outreach programs for public healtY~ needs and problems will be measured based on number of <br />citizens served, client outcomes, and consumer satisfaction following service provision. <br />In addition to the objective measures identified above, the success of the program will be <br />evaluated through surveys of OCHD staff and partnering agencies to determine the effectiveness <br />of training and performance of vol~znteers. Volunteers will also be surveyed regarding their <br />satisfaction with orientation, traini~ig and deployment. All surveys will request that respondents <br />provide feedback on areas of concf;rns and recommendations for improvement. <br />Plan for Sustaining Medical Reserve Corps Unit <br />Detailed documentation will be maintained on the MRC volunteer demographics, <br />policies, procedures, objectives, d~-i11 and actual disaster response, and evaluations. Reports will <br />be submitted to the Orange County Board of Health, County Managers, and the Board of County <br />Commissioners throughout the program duration. Prior to termination of Federal Funding, the <br />Orange County Health Department will seek County funding for continuation of the Medical <br />Reserve Corps unit. <br />Statement of Willingness <br />The Orange County Health Department is willing to contribute written information to the <br />Office of the Surgeon General on our local Medical Reserve Corps unit's progress, lessons <br />learned, best practices, and areas for improvement. <br />The Health Department i:; willing to accept any type of technical assistance that maybe <br />needed, such as development of operational plans or evaluation approaches. <br />17 <br />
