acs <br />4. In interim, assign volunteers to new and ongoing public health initiatives to support/expand <br />public health efforts in the community. Provide orientation and training on responsibilities <br />and duties and assign volunteer to staff preceptor by June 30, 2004. <br />5. Identify volunteers that are interested in developing outreach programs under the direction <br />OCHD leaders to address additional public health needs and problems in the community <br />throughout the year by June 30, 2004. <br />Fourth Quarter' Year One Funding <br />1. Begin recruitment efforts for nun-medical professional volunteers such as retired seniors, <br />childcare workers, clergy, security guards, administrative assistants, information specialists, <br />and language interpreters by August 31, 2004. <br />2. Recruit 20 additional nurses (goa150 total) and 10 additional pharmacists (goal 18 total) by <br />September 30, 2004. <br />3. Recruit twenty-five additional medical professional volunteers including social workers, <br />laboratory technicians, dentist:>, dental assistants, physicians, physician assistants, nursing <br />assistants, epidemiologists, biostatiticians, veterinarians, and vet technicians by September <br />30, 2004. <br />4. By September 30, 2004, identify training needs for second cadre of volunteers including <br />Health Department orientation, American Red Cross Disaster Services (Mass Care, Disaster <br />Health Services, and Disaster Mental Health Services), Incident Command System, <br />biologicaUradiation/chemical agent response efforts, and mass prophylaxis and <br />immunization. Collaborate with Health Department Directors and community partners to <br />identify other discipline-specific training needs. <br />15 <br />
