and learning experience period at the Service Agency. The curriculum as presented by the <br />North Carolina Office of Emergency Medical Services for EMT and A-EMT stipulating standards <br />for approved programs shall be considered as part of this agreement. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the mutual obligations stated hereinafter below <br />and the benefits according to each of the parties hereto, the NCOAE and Service Agency do <br />hereby enter into this agreement, upon the following terms, covenants, and conditions. <br />II. Conditions <br />1. NCOAE will identify a Clinical Coordinator as a contact person during the preceptorship. <br />2. Orange County EMS will identify the Training Officer as their contact person. <br />3. Orange County EMS will provide the necessary equipment and supplies for patient care. <br />Equipment issued to employees will not be provided to students. <br />4. The NCOAE Clinical Coordinator will supervise students when necessary. At other times, <br />Orange County EMS staff will supervise. Ultimate responsibility for the well-being of the <br />patients shall remain with the Orange County EMS staff. Orange County EMS staff can <br />intervene/interrupt patient care delivery by the students at any time. <br />5. The NCOAE Clinical Coordinator will schedule and maintain academic records on each <br />student. Requests to schedule students for participation will be submitted to the <br />Training Officer by the Clinical Coordinator via commercial clinical tracking software <br />and/or email at least ten (10) days prior to the requested clinical. <br />6. The student(s) will observe the Orange County EMS personnel policies and procedures <br />at all times during the affiliation. They will observe at all times the CONFIDENTIALITY of <br />patient care and are subject to being held liable for breaching the doctrine of <br />CONFIDENTIALITY. <br />7. Orange County EMS has the right to terminate a student’s preceptors hip experience in <br />the event that the student’s conduct, patient care or other justifiable reasons dictates <br />this course of action. Termination must be documented in writing by Orange County <br />EMS personnel to the Clinical Coordinator. <br />8. The Training Officer of Orange County EMS will have final approval over the scheduling <br />of students in the facilities of Orange County EMS. <br />9. The senior person on the duty crew at Orange County EMS has the right to request that <br />only Emergency Medical Services personnel be allowed to respond to a particular call. <br />10. If either party wishes to withdraw from this agreement, a notice of at least ninety (90) <br />days shall be given to the other party.
