23t. <br />The above mentioned appropirations for Schools are to be divided as follows: In current <br />expense the County School Unit will receive by per capita allotment $169,945.50 and by direct <br />allotment from the state $30,091.50 for a total budget of $200,037.00. The Chapel Hill Unit <br />shall receive by per capita allotment $139,343.00, <br />In capital outly the County Unit shall receive $82,020.00 and the Chapel Hill Unit shall <br />receive $200,000.00. This sum shall be allocated to a specific project or projects at a later date. <br />The foregoing resolution received a second from Commissioner Jones and upon a vote the <br />following Commissioners were recorded in the affirmative 5 and the following Commissioners were <br />recorded in the negative 0. Chairman Stanford then declared the motion passed. <br />To finance the foregoing appropriation Commissioner WaLker introduced the following tax <br />levy resolution. <br />For the Bond Fund the sum of .0200 cents per $100.00 of property valuation <br />Farm .0234 <br />Health .0385 <br />Property Revluation .0121 <br />School C E .2551 <br />C 0 .4049 <br />D S .1517 <br />Welfare General .0465 <br />0 A A .0183 <br />A D C 0169 <br />A P T D .0126 <br />The tax rates combine to yield a total rate of $1.00 on the $100.00 of property valuation <br />The foregoing resolution received a second from Commissioner Jones and when Chairman Stanford <br />called for a vote the following Commissioners 5 voted in the affirmative and the following <br />Commissioners 0 voted in the negative. Chairman Stanford then declared the motion duly adopted. <br />i <br />Commissioner McDade introduced the following motion: <br />(1.) A poll tax on all male Persons between the ages of 21 and 50 years. <br />Twenty five percent of the proceeds of this tax shall be deposited ' <br />in the Welfare Fund and the remainder of this tax shall be deposited <br />in the School Current Expense Fund. <br />(2) A Special School tax of 20¢ on $$100.00 of property valuation on all <br />property located within the Chapel Hill School District as provided <br />by Chapter 69 of the General Statututes of North Carolina <br />j <br />This motion received a second from Commissioner Walker and when Chairman Stanford called for <br />a vote the following Commissioners voted in the affirmative 5 and the following Commissioners <br />0. Chairman Stanford declared the motion duly passed. <br />Comnissioner Bennett introduced the following license tax resolution: <br />(1) On each open female dog 6 months of age or older the sum of $2.00 <br />and upon all other dogs in the sum of $1.00. The proceeds of this <br />tax shall be used to help defray the cost of the dog program. <br />On each marriage license a tax of $4.00 in accordance with G.S. <br />51-20. The proceeds of this tax shall go to the General Fund. j <br />m In accordance with Sect. B of the Revenue Act (Article 2-Chanter <br />5 of the General Statutes) and any other section of the General <br />Statutues there is hereby levied a privilege license in the <br />maximum amount permitted on all businesses, trades, occupations or <br />professions which the county is entitled to tax. <br />This motion received a second from Commissioner Walker and when Chairman Stanford called for a <br />vote the following Commissioners 5 voted in the affirmative and the following Commissioners 0 voted <br />in the negative. Chairman Stanford then declared the motion duly passed.
