He said this <br /> 10 program previously required an inspection every 5 years, which duplicated other required <br /> 11 inspections. He said this change will result in operating savings for the County, and also saves <br /> 12 residents an additional fee. <br /> 13 Chair Price asked if another department was doing the Wastewater Treatment Program <br /> 14 previously. <br /> 15 Travis Myren said Environmental Health was doing the inspections, and it was on top of <br /> 16 what the regular inspections required. <br /> 17 Chair Price clarified that the duplication was not caused by two entities doing the same <br /> 18 work without knowledge, rather that the inspections were being done too often. <br /> 19 Travis Myren answered yes. <br /> 20 Quintana Stewart, Health Director, said the program has been around for the past 20 <br /> 21 years or so, and staff found that by following the manufacturer's maintenance schedule for <br /> 22 those systems, it can reduce a cost burden for residents. She said 90-97% of the systems that <br /> 23 were inspected were in compliance and working.
